Mission / Activities

1. Profile

a. Industrial Automation expert with strong knowledge of the BM&W application and to be seen as an expert in this field by Schneider Electric customers & internally in terms of:

i. BM&W Segment application expertise and segment understanding (Local geographical standards, understanding of Automation system issues, competitors)

ii. BM&W Machine Functionality

iii. BM&W Automation system Hardware & Software platforms

b. Strong and Open competency to communicate with Customers, ADEs, PEs, SAEs, Local Sales and Marketing teams.

2. Mission

a. To take ultimate technical responsibility for the co-engineering and support of Machine Solutions with BM&W OEM customers. Leading the development and provision of differentiated and innovative solutions to our internal and external customers, adding credible competence to Schneider Electric businesses.

b. Co-engineer, develop and implement the best Automation system solutions for the BM&W target customers, incorporating the full Schneider offer(s) in the BM&W application delivering profitable growth & customer satisfaction.

c. Convert BM&W application knowledge and experience into added value for the business through creating and sharing application guides, function blocks, white papers and success stories.

d. Identify the focus & needs for offer development within the BM&W application, and work with relevant departments to validate and create both repetitive (bundles / standard functions) and specific customer offers.

3. Main Activities

a. Provide back office pre-sales to support to the OEM Sales organization

b. Develop Automation system for Building Material (Ceramic, Glass,stone...) &Woodmaking machinery

c. Actively contribute to a global network of Application Design Experts as part of the ADE Program:

i. Success Stories & Best practices

ii. Sharing & Supporting community support requests

iii. Web Seminar & Newsletter participation & Input

d. Work with Industry Business Solutions Marketing, product Business Units to enhance Industry Business product, system & solution offer.

4. Working relationship

Reports to: BM&W Segment manager. and must remain in close contact with the SC sales team, dot line reports to ADE Manager.

5. Competence Profile

a. Knowledge & Capabilities

i. Extensive knowledge & experience of BM&W application, industry, standards & legislation.

ii. Customer focus, listening and communication skills

iii. Analytical skills

iv. Technical component & connectivity expertise

v. Expertise with the existing offer used within BM&W: PLC,HMI,Motion, interter

vi. Programming Expertise

a. Must be programming literate with focus on block and ST programming

b. CoDeSys programming literacy is much prefered

c. Control loop programming experience (PI, PID...)

vii. Deep commercial and technical knowledge about the Industry Businesses system offer, and competent to use this knowledge

viii. High level of Industry Business offer knowledge, and the broader Schneider Electric portfolio and able to detect & escalate leads and opportunities to sales

ix. Scope: Complete automation and system offer

a. Deep understanding of the Application offer related to BM&W

b. Automation technology related to BM&W (understanding of BM&W Automation system issues, competitors)

c. BM&W Network Expertise (Principles, connectivity, limitations, performance) for:

1. Modbus RTU

2. Ethernet: Modbus TCP/IP

3. CAN BUS

d. Somachine Hardware & Software platforms

b. Background / Experience

i. Candidate must have an expertise within the BM&W segment; with working application experience in developing applications on a wide scope of BM&W machines, the BM&W segment/market understanding with respect to technical solutions as well as technical limitations, and the respective standards & legislation regarding the BM&W segment

ii. Minimum to enter in the position:

a. Worked as a Technical engineer or application designer within the BM&W segment (or relative segment)

b. Application competency (see competency profile part 5a)

c. Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in designing and/or problem solving in industrial automation

d. Expertise in BM&W segment standards

e. Existing offer expertise (see competency profile part 5a, v)

f. Programming expertise (see competency profile part 5a, vi)

iii. Knowledge of the electrical distribution, automation offer and related competitors & customers.

c. Qualifications

i. Automation B.S. degree

ii. Language skills : English - middle Level verbal, written
