About This Job:

Syngenta Beijing Innovation Center is seeking a highly responsible and self-motivated senior plant biologist to join the Plant Analysis and Trialing Group. This person will be a key member to drive biotech platform development and deliver trait projects’ trialing and phenotyping needs. Particularly, he/she will focus on contained environment plant research, develop innovative crop cultivation and phenotyping solutions to ensure the high quality delivery of diverse biotech projects.

Accountabilities：

• Work in global teams to deliver novel biotech traits and technologies, mainly responsible for greenhouse research, including plant care and phenotyping, assay development, trial design and data analysis
• Dedicated in biotech pipeline activities to deliver high quality data packages and continuously drive efficiency gain
• Provide scientific leadership in project and collaboration development aligned with business needs, and innovatively come up ideas and fit-for-purpose solution

Qualifications:

• PhD/Master’s with 5+ years of experience in plant physiology, agronomy, reproductive biology, plant breeding, etc.
• Extensive experience on plant cultivation and phenotyping, experiment design and statistical analysis
• Good knowledge on agricultural biotechnologies, such as GM, genome editing, molecular breeding. Industry working experience is preferred
•  Proficient in oral and written English communication
• Good team player, strong execution, and problem solving capability

• Early morning or late evening teleconference is required to ensure global communication
• Role based in Changping district, Beijing, with occasional business travel
