Role purpose  

As part of a growing Product Safety team in China, to be responsible for the design and delivery of crop residue trial data in China. This will require working with the Syngenta China regulatory, biology and commercial teams to understand detailed project requirements as well as working with Contract Research Organisations (CROs). Interactions with the global Product Safety organisation in other regions is required as is the need to interact with regulatory agencies and scientific organisations within China.

Accountabilities         

• As a specialist in the field of residue chemistry to manage the delivery and conduct of residue programmes in support of China registrations      
• To build and maintain working relationships and processes with contract research organisations (CROs) in China who will conduct the residue trials       
• Provide technical expertise to identify and solve key scientific problems, particularly in field trial data, analytical data and chromatography   
• By understanding the current and evolving Chinese regulatory guidelines for residue chemistry to provide advice to project teams on the data required to meet project needs including estimates of  time and cost  
• To participate in discussions with external regulatory agencies e.g. ICAMA and other stakeholders on the acceptability and use of Syngenta data
• To work with Syngenta’s global residue teams to ensure the requirements for China are understood and to facilitate the use of wider company expertise in China
• May conduct dietary risk assessments for submission in China

Knowledge, experience & capabilities

Critical knowledge

•  Technically trained in analytical and/or residue chemistry through a combination of education and work experience.

• An understanding of the current and evolving Chinese regulatory guidelines for residue chemistry
