The Corn Pipeline Manager will ensure coordination among the corn and rice breeding functions to enable reliable and efficient operations in delivering the line and hybrid development program.

• He/she will support the corn breeding pipeline across China market segments, planning, global germplasm leverage planning and logistics   
• He/she will monitor program performance using standardized metrics and other indicators that provide project/program transparency.
• He/she will own the transparency and accuracy of the product information in the pipeline status for China. He will ensure this information is aligned across End to End till commercialization with the relevant functions

.       ACCOUNTABILITIES :

Coordinate efficient seeds product delivery programs/projects for corn product development

• Ensure coherence of data in appropriate reporting tools (for project planning, functional resource demand, trial performance, product performance etc)
• In coordination with the BPL’s, GPL/TPL’s, populate project planning tool with breeding research demand and project task detail
• Support  the stakeholders on full transparency on pipeline status (i.e. research reviews and pipeline tracking reporting)
  
  

Drive project management standardization and efficiency

• Co-develop and implement new processes to promote breeding pipeline transparency: including metrics/KPIs, stage plan, business cases and other initiatives
• Support development of breeding pipeline review metrics/KPIs and implementation of information capture

• Owns all data on each of the product in the Corn pipeline across the deferent market segment in China

• Monitor and calculate breeding pipeline indicators to measure performance.
• Working with product development team, provide framework for measuring genetic gain and ensuring that relevant data are collected and analyzed for review purposes

Working with the Corn Seeds Product Development Teams :

• Establish a robust tracking and reporting mechanism to monitor breeding project progress in a timely and efficient manner
• Engage and validate with key functional owners of the different processes that needs to be completed during the product development cycle. For e.g. Seed Production Research, Parents Seeds, Parental Line Delivery and Commercial

• Owns the Germplasm movement into and out of China

• Metrics reporting on SPD projects and strategic initiatives

Critical Knowledge:

·         Understanding of plant biology, basic plant breeding process & technologies

·         Understanding of agribusiness and the different market segments for corn in China

·         A strong knowledge of project management, database system and logistics support system

·         Good communication and people skills

·         Good organizational and time management skills

·         Good communication skills, written oral and presentation
