REPORTS INTO: Vice President Brand Building Personal Care
DIRECT REPORTS/TEAM: Leads the team of 24 people with 5 direct reports; Indirectly managing, via third party, a team of 130 counter supervisors and 2100 beauty advisors.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
Growing at 17%+ p.a, China face market is estimated to be valued more than ? 9.6 Billion by 2015, with facial moisturizer and facial cleanser segments’ value split at 70% vs 30%. Driven by both masstiage and mass segment growth, China face market is getting more sophisticated with aggressive growth both from prestigious brands and local mass brands. On channel side, Department Store, Modern Trade and E-commerce are the top three channels with cosmetics channel catching up quickly. From product benefit side, whitening is still the biggest need, with anti-aging, hydration and men catching up quickly over the past two years.
Pond’s is currently playing in both high mass and masstige segments, focusing on modern trade with Counter Operation being the major business model.

Today China is Pond’s 3rd largest market globally, and represents huge growth opportunity for the company. Entering China in 1988, Pond’s is one of the first international skincare brands in market and over years has built its strong presence both in FM and FC markets. With the ambition to build a winning face business in China, UL has determined to grow Pond’s business in China with a sustainable business model and committed investment.

MAIN JOB PURPOSE:
1. Develop the Pond’s China counter business strategy based on brand and category strategy.
2. Build, lead and develop a high performing counter team to deliver the best-in-class BA performance and counter execution
3. Develop and execute BA and CS (counter supervisor) capability building plan including performance evaluation, gap/opportunity analysis, and training as an enabler to deliver the superior consumer experience.
4. Work closely with Brand Building and Customer Marketing teams to execute brand activities at the points of sales via counter
5. Work closely with Customer Development team to develop Pond’s business plan for key customers and execute it to achieve the business targets.
6. Work closely with Brand Building and Customer Marketing teams to develop and execute the Pond’s channel strategy that reflects the specific shopper insights in different channels and captures the maximum growth opportunities across channels.

- BA counter performance as reflected in Mystery Shopper Survey
- Skill/capability development of the Pond’s BA/CS
- Effective networking with Brand Building, Customer Marketing and CD teams

PROFESSIONAL SKILLS:
- Face category counter management
- Category Management
- Training and coaching

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- 8 -1 0 years of proven experiences of face counter management (ideally a sizeable face brand in China ie Loreal, Olay, Nutrogena )
- Possess strong drive in making things happen despite all the challenges and barriers
- A strong team leader in building and developing a high performance team
- Good business acumen in understanding and analyzing market opportunities and create plan to address such opportunities
- A good team player in effectively networking and building cross-function working relationshipo

Mainly inside China about once a month
