Essential Responsibilities
- Responsible for supporting the controller systems, Edge application, I/O, OI, HMI, SCADA, and iHistorian products or solution ;
- Demand generation: organize technology day workshop, lunch and learn session, product show, proof of new concept demonstration, etc.;
- Knowledge transfer: Develop technical content for a hands-on Workshop / Vertical / Installed-base Upgrade, Application Note, Create and submit for inclusion in the GEAC Customer Experience List, etc.;
- Boundary-less Activities: Participate in Marketing Programs, Voice of the Customer, Specification Review, Product Alpha or Beta testing, interoperability Testing (may be 3rd party or other GE IP products), or Cross-Region On-Site Support
Role Summary/Purpose
The Application Engineer will be responsible for supporting internal (RMs, BDMs, CMs, CPLs, Marketing) and external (Channel Partner, SI, DI, and End user) customers in meeting or exceeding sales quota for defined target accounts within a defined region, target segment, or globally where applicable to the Hardware discipline.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related automation field;
- 5+ years of experience in PLC, PPS project implementation or site maintain;
- Linux operation and maintain, database operation, opc UA, industrial ethernet concept know how ;
- Programming language skills : Python, Java script, HTML, etc. ;
- Strong Debugging and Troubleshooting Expertise
Desired Characteristics
- Master Degree in PLC/SCADA field
- Project & technical leadership skills consistent with experience.Ability to coordinate and integrate projects through excellent global communication and issue resolution;
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally
