SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

• Drivetransition of ABB spend to EM, when risk and total cost analysisjustifies

• Manage EM supplier relationships. Develop Suppliers that meet cost, payment terms, quality and delivery requirements to become and remain approved suppliers for the Business Unit

• Assist in resolving non-conformance qualityissues and support the Quality department in performing on-site supplierquality audits

• Support BU Commodity Management in key supplier visits to evaluate suppliers’ technologies and capabilities

• Implementaccurate standard costs and execute on cost savings opportunities. Participatein cross-functional and cross organizational sourcing and capital projects asrequired. Identify opportunities in overall cost reduction, to include price,faster responsiveness and increase buying bargaining power

• Supportcorporate sourcing initiatives through data provision, team participation andimplementation of corporate sourcing decisions / directives

• Maintainproject files and records and information systems to ensure efficiency and productivity.Maintain accuracy of data in computer system, regarding sourcing projects

• Negotiate and manage the trade-off betweenmaterials requirement planning / inventory level and economic order quantity

• As identified by LBU, assist in locatingadditional sources of supply for items deemed critical to assure continuousproduction levels.

• Support new product development projects in achieving revenue and profitable growth objectives
  
  
• Support BU as they identify items that create supply risks for critical and long lead time items
  
  
• Market analysis; identify new suppliers and make recommendations for major material purchases based on anticipated market price changes or in unusual availability situations

• Define parameters that will facilitate the selection of right “Preferred Supplier” and promote the use of these approved “Preferred Suppliers”

• Actively provide information to engineering and R&D about new suppliers, materials and manufacturing methods

• Applyand implement defined Group SCM standards, tools and processes

• Take lead and overall responsibility in SourcingProjects by working in conjunction with the peers and other function teammembers

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Completed basic technical or commercialtraining with an additional university degree (at least Bachelor) inengineering or economics

• Previous working experience from the metalprocessing/working industry (not necessarily within the field of SupplyManagement). Mechanical quality experience is regarded as a plus. Sourcingbackground and multinational company experience is preferred

• Excellent command (oral and written) of English
