Financial Analyst, Language Division

Synopsis
Be a critical member of the EF's Language Division, providing professional financial analysis, operational services and support to the rapid business development of this division of EF China! Work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to a diverse and international workforce.
The Role
The role will be part of the finance team but you will be 100% dedicated to the EF Language Division in China and maintain close ties to the EF Language management team. You will work closely with the managers and staff in the division which consists of over 75 employees across 4 cities. You will closely monitor the financial operation, including sales, sales reconciliations, costs, budgets and variance analysis.
Responsibilities:
1. Business analysis and internal reporting including
1.1. Daily/weekly/monthly reporting, scorecards and other routine reporting
1.1. Recurring budgeting and forecasting process
1.2. Quarterly and annual closings
1.3. Variance analysis, working closely with management and staff to analyze the deviation factors and increase forecasting accuracy
2. Systems work
2.1. Become power user of reporting and accounting systems
2.2. Work on updating and maintaining key systems
3. Sales reconciliations
3.1. Responsible for the timely reconciliation of invoices and payments
3.2. Manage the refund process
3.3. Work closely with sales staff and treasury team
4. Set up, update and execute financial / internal control policies
5. Ad hoc projects and analysis
Requirements:
1. Minimum Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. CPA or MBA a plus
2. Experience in accounting, treasury, sales administration, or tax (+3 years), preferably within a service company and/or major accounting company
3. Bi-lingual ability required (Chinese and English), both written and spoken. Additional language skills are an advantage.
4. Ability to approach issues in a logical manner in a fast paced environment
5. Flexible, ambitious and highly analytical
6. Enjoys working in a deadline driven and fast-paced international environment
7. Business minded, experience working in close cooperation with non-finance departments
8. An understanding of internal controls
