Short description:
-Insure the realization of the objectives of volume production defined during the budget and in daily adequacy with the CCT / Schedule.
-Manage the production workshop to insure the respect for the standards, costs and performances and lead the corrective actions in case of drift.
-Participate in the elaboration of the budget, and make propositions of improvements of performances.
-Guarantee of the safety and the environment’s protection in his department according to ISO 14001 requirements.
-Guarantee of the quality in his department according to ISO 9001 requirements.
-Manage the supervisors’ team by insuring the transmission of the objectives to achieve in a concern of equity to all the production’s staff.
DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. QUALITY
-Make sure that the procedures are respected and that the manufacturing of the product is made within the framework of the standard ISO9001
-Make sure of the stake under statistical control of the manufacturing processes by leaning on tools of analysis such as SPC, DOE, FMEA
-Follow the indicators of his department, analyze the drift with the supervisors and take measures in case of drift
-make sure through the supervisors that quality controls are made on lines, that the operators are trained and that the logsheets and the statistical data base quality is correctly fed
2. SAFETY / ENVIRONMENT
-Make respected the regulations and the procedures in coherence with our safety system and ISO14001
-Participate in the analyses of incidents, accidents, drainings for all which concerns his department
-Follow the indicators of his department, analyze the drift with the supervisors and take measures in case of drift
-5S training to Production team, follow the daily patrol , improve the environment.
-Participate in the implementation of the company’s safety & environment policies and participate in the plant management environmental review
3. AUTHORITY
-Management of the production supervisors directly and the production through the supervisors.
-Lead and animate the team to bring to a successful conclusion all the tasks which are under the responsibility of the service. Coordinate the priorities by organizing into a hierarchy the specific tasks to realize
-Delegate, whenever possible, part of its activities. Insure the follow-up of the realization
-Animate meetings of service and explain the indicators of performance
-Estimate the individual and collective performance towards the fixed objectives
-Realize the annual assessments of the subordinates he is responsible for and propose (justify) their salary increases (%) and incentives
-Fix objectives to his team and give him the means to realize them
-Communicate rules and internal procedures and make sure that they are well understood and applied.
-Lead individual interviews with the staff when necessities (after a sick leave, further to an inadequate behavior, etc.)
-Re-centre if need be any misdemeanor
-Arbitrate the individual or collective conflicts by adopting a behavior adapted to the situation. In case of persevering or deep conflicts, warn his superior in the hierarchy
4. MAIN ACTIVITES
Insure the realization of the production objectives (daily / monthly / yearly):
? Follow the production figures, analyze the drift and remedy it
-Animate the production meetings to activate the corrective actions by implying all the participants
-Study the feasibility, with the CCT, of the customers’ demands and report impacts on the production capacity
-Analyze the variances with regard to the budget and lead the corrective actions if needed
-Follow the OEE by machines, analyze the discrepancies and lead the corrective actions if needed
-Define the priorities of actions within the framework of the resolutions of problems.
? Analyze the discrepancies and engage resolutions of problem(s)
-Make sure of the cleanliness and the arrangement of its department by applying method 5S and by taking into account comments of Daily Patrol
Manage streams:
-Validating the sequences of the orders with the scheduling
-Adapting the production by regulating the intermediate stocks
-Adjusting and by regulating the level of finished produced stock.
-Validating the sequence of the preventive maintenance lines’ stops
Insure and verify that action plans, respecting the individuals, the safety and the environment are in work for the continuous improvement of products and process which have an impact on the satisfaction of the customers and the improvement of our profits
5. REPORTING
- Insure the reporting (daily / weekly / monthly) by analyzing and by explaining the discrepancies between the objectives and the realized and announce decisions taken to remedy it
- Do the reporting from the analyzing meeting, when production has suffered big stoppages (above 5h unscheduled)
6. TRAINING / ANIMATION
? Determine the needs of his staff in training. Draw up the plan of training within the framework of the budgets which are assigned to him.
? Proceed to the evaluation of training initiatives followed by his staff
? Form and make the co-workers progress from whom he is responsible for.
? Guaranteeing on the middle term the availability of the skills by taking into account needs and evolutions of the profession

In order to consolidate its leading position in China, Daramic recently signed a JV Agreement with the largest local Lead Acid Battery manufacturer, Camel Hubei. The JV company – Daramic Xiangfan Battery Separator Co., Ltd. will be located on Camel’s site in Xiangfan – Hubei, and the capacity which is expected to come online by early 2012, will serve Camel’s PE Separators requirements. Our joint venture with Camel not only strengthens our relationship with a leading battery producer in China but it also positions Daramic to capture a significant portion of this growing market. To better serve the local market, the newly formed joint venture company intends to build a facility with two production lines, representing 35 M sqm of capacity, in a two-step process. With three manufacturing plants in three countries, Daramic is well positioned in Asia and is the largest regional battery separator manufacturer.
