Primary Purpose:
Assistant Manager/Manager, Buying, Asia supports the vision set by the category owner, ensuring full execution of the buying strategy of assigned categories in Asia. He/she is accountable for achieving KPI set: sales, margin, WOS, Inventory turn.

Buying
- Execute the buy in support of the buying strategy
- Prepare and present reports to monitor business on a regular basis, interpreting and recommending key opportunities across the defined area of responsibility
- Assist in the preparation and delivery of product presentations to field teams, ensuring clarity and accuracy are evident at all times
- Follow the complete product lifecycle of the entire assortment, including launch, in-season and post season management, making recommendations on liquidation strategies, while understanding the balance to achieve the company inventory and profit goals.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Allocation team to drive an optimal stock allocation strategy that supports the buying plans and drive actions where needed
- Partner with Marketing to ensure key initiatives or product ideas are supported through the various communication platforms
- Collaborates with Retail Operations and Logistics to ensure programs, product placements and changes are clearly communicated
- Partner with Visual Merchandising team on monthly floor-sets, product display and window executions to ensure the buying and assortment vision is effectively implemented
- Work with the corporate teams to provide material to local Retail Training & Development teams to execute quarterly product/new launch training
- Responsible for merchandise distribution through door profiling that maximizes sales opportunity, buys and re-order management
- Engage in ongoing communication with Global Buying Team on local market needs and trends, that includes but not limited to special products, new store openings and new initiates for the Asia Region
- Regularly visit and communicate with stores, gaining valuable feedback on assortment and pricing opportunities from the field teams
People Development
- Monitor and review self-performance with manager and set clear development objectives
- Actively seek and welcome feedback to aid self-development and learning
The accomplished individual will possess...
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 4+ years of experience in a Buying capacity in a related business or brand. Less experienced candidates will be considered as Assistant Manager.
- Experience in fashion/luxury goods is preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese dialect)
- Strong analytical skills and comprehensive understanding of “retail math”
- Strategic vision and execution abilities
- Excellent product sensibility; quick learning of market and trends
- Ability to take initiative, ownership, and accountability for business
- Ability to react quickly with a strong sense of urgency
- Strong leadership and management skills to mentor and build team
- Strong Influential skills, confidence and assertiveness
- A collaborative and respectful team player with ability to make sound judgement, and build partnerships beyond own area of responsibility
- Highly flexible and adaptable, comfortable with ambiguity & can thrive in changing environment
