Job Purpose
The Assistant Research Manager's role is to support senior managers in all aspects of the business including delivering sales and completed revenues against agreed targets. Managing, coaching, supporting and developing member of his/her team as appropriate and ensuring successful completion of projects.
Main Job Responsibilities
1.Achieve sales and revenue targets as agreed with the Head of Office / reporting project director
2.Meet regularly with existing clients to manage existing projects and relationships as well as securing new business for company
3.Present the company to potential new clients as agreed with annual objectives
4.Present / assist to present proposals and study reports to clients
5.Calculate costs to ensure comprehensive and accurate cost items are included in the proposal and that the gross profit margin remains in line with stated company objectives.
6.Design and support others in designing high quality questionnaires to meet objectives of the studies commissioned
7.Undertake in depth qualitative interviews and successfully conduct focus groups
8.Deliver and support others in delivering fieldwork briefings to ensure the interviewers are clear about the purposes and logic of the flow of the questionnaires.
9.Support fieldwork and data processing to ensure the study and its analysis are conducted in a logical and highly professional manner
10.Conduct data analysis to provide meaningful conclusions.
11.Design reports and charts to present easy-to-read and meaningful linkage to conclusions.
12.Estimate and plan resources for the commissioned projects to ensure the projects can be completed according to schedule.
13. Interpret the data using SPSS, Excel or other techniques to produce accurate analysis.
14.Write the conclusions to clearly and accurately represent the insights of the findings and recommendations.
15.Train and supervise more junior researchers to ensure they acquire basic research techniques.
16.Maintain the proposal and job folders are updated in line with the company MRQSA guidelines
17.Ensure that invoicing is carried out on time with copies to the client, the Ipsos Healthcare office administrator and regional financial controller
18.Assist senior staff members and fieldwork on ad hoc projects as assigned.
19.Collect outstanding debt speedily to ensure good cash flow for the company
Qualifications
1. Local Chinese with fluent Mandarin is essential
2. Strong English language skills are essential
3. An undergraduate degree in an appropriate area science, medicine, pharmacy, mathematics, business is essential
4. At least 4 years of previous work experience in marketing & sales related position is essential
5. 2 years plus prior healthcare market research or other healthcare agency experience is essential
6. An advanced degree would be an advantage
7. Overseas work / study experience is desired
8. Clinical medicine background and experience in the China market is desired
9. Healthcare industry marketing and sales experience is desired
10. Market research / business consulting / advertising company experience is desired
11. A network of contacts across the China healthcare sector is desired
Working Relationship
Internal:
Leads a team of senior research executives and research executives and works directly with reporting project director / the head of office and above, fieldwork and data processing.
External:
Product managers, marketing research managers and other sales and marketing personnel of client companies to present proposals, discuss research instruments as well as deliver reports.
Other Requirements
1.Reliable and able to work to demanding client deadlines
2.Able to work under pressure and beyond normal working hours (late evening s and weekends)
3.Ability and credibility to command presence with clients and respect from peers
4.A strong desire to succeed in ones career and to deliver the highest quality service to clients both internal and external
