According to global category guidelines and strategies and in coordination with Global Category Leads:

-Negotiate country-specific /local contract Terms & Conditions (technical, economical, financial and legal aspects) to fit with current and future “internal client” requirements, and liaise with related functions

-Maximise costs optimisation through synergies and volume bundling

-Build stakeholder/budget holder buy-in to purchasing strategies by applying a formalised stakeholder relationship management programme

-Manage portfolio of suppliers towards optimum return : balancing service, quality and cost, in line with business objectives

-When and where appropriate, challenge internal demand (make or buy decision, demand management... etc.)

-Liaise with other Purchasing colleagues to implement global purchasing strategies and develop country purchasing plans in line with UCB Group objectives

-Facilitate end users’ awareness of risk and cost related to purchase commitments, and promote good purchasing practices

-Establish information networking with other sites to share best practices

-Implements TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) methodology together with internal users, identifies and implements improvement opportunities (e.g. as a result of standardisation of materials/services, purchasing process simplification…).

-Follows up purchasing KPI targets and spend for categories and complies with reporting guidelines. Tracks savings versus set targets. Track PO Penetration and encourages Improvements in Working Capital

-Set up, maintain and continuously improve purchasing process (“Request to Pay”) and ensure it is smoothly embedded into business planning

-Set up/manage repository for contracts management in collaboration with Legal and Finance departments.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Business and Administration, Marketing, Economics or related field required

Experience:

5+ years purchasing experience in similar position with indirect purchasing categories, management/leadership capacity, pharmaceutical industry (desirable), with proven professional services and marketing exposure.
