Business analyst
Report to: director-planning and development
Accountability
1. Market intelligence
l Research macro economy, the coal and power industry, policies, regulations, trends, market players
l Analyze the implication of the macro climate on the company business
l Provide analysis and insights to the company
2. Strategic planning
l Coordinate the strategic planning process for the company
l Support to input the necessary information, analysis, and assumptions
l Coordinate the valuation for the projects and portfolio
3. Provide financial modeling so that company management and shareholders can assess risks and returns to make investment decisions;
l Collaborating with other company specialists in developing assumptions for future operating and financial performance of projects.
l Conduct detailed financial modeling and evaluations;
l Conduct scenario analyses in order to optimize returns and quantify risks;
l Conduct financial due diligence in cooperation with other professionals;
l Developing and maintaining screening and prioritizing system for prospective projects, pursuing numerical accuracy , easily checkable inputs and clear output;
l Preparing project economic information of investments appraisal
4. Provide corporate valuation to company management, so that they can assess returns and measure the company’s financial achievement.
l Developing and updating corporate valuation model, pursuing numerical accuracy and clear outputs;
l Collecting financial statements and operating data from accounting team and BU team respectively;
l Communicating with related party for detailed information
5. Conduct management reports
l Collect information as per the company requirement;
l Draft monthly, quarterly, annual reports and analysis for the management
Qualification
l At least 3 years experience in market intelligence in energy sector, power and coal, or renewable energy
l At least 3 years experience in business analysis with experience in computer-based financial modelling.
l At least 3 years experience of financial modeling
l Indepth understanding of coal and power industry
l Indepth understanding of finance and investment decision making
l Understanding of accounting GAAP
l Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
l Highly developed computer (spreadsheet) technical skills.
l Working knowledge of accounting.
l Enthusiasm for doing detailed, accurate work.
l Good oral and written communications skills.
l Good written and spoken English.
Education
l Bachelor degree in finance, accounting, engineering etc.
l MBA preferred
