As a Demand and Orders Analyst at Caterpillar, you will plan, prepare and communicate manufacturing schedules for specific product lines according to customer demand. You will execute and manage all scheduling and

material planning activities for these products by negotiating and facilitating the execution of plans in collaboration with the Operations Group. Your role ensures material and capacity are sufficient for production.

Demand and Orders Analysts perform the following job duties:

1. Interpret product demand into a valid production schedule and execute the schedule to meet customer shipment dates
2. Coordinate customer orders with production capacity and commitments.
3. Enter customer orders, release production orders, expedite material, order purchased finished material, manage a scrap database and report inventory key performance indidators..
4. Communicate order status to customers through appropriate channels and ensure product is invoiced on time
5. Perform Root Cause Analysis, make recommendations and where applicable implement Corrective Action Plans for issues involving the production schedule and customer delivery
6. Work closely with management team and associates in marketing, sales, operations and engineering to identify and resolve production schedule interruptions
7. Manage capacity planning for specific production cells to meet S&OP targets.
8. Ensure that all schedules can be processed efficiently by managing MRP II system issues for that product.

Required Qualifications

1. Knowledge of standard supply chain systems

2. Strong collaborative, interpersonal and communication skills to effectively work across functions to performing work deploying supply chain improvements

3. Problem-solving skills to solve common problems

4. Strong team player in order to be effective in deploying supply chain improvements as part of a team

5. Understanding of manufacturing and operations standard processes and basic product knowledge

6. Ability to analyze business conditions and situations during deployment needed to minimize disruption to daily requirements

7. College or university degree or equivalent, preferably in Supply Chain and/or Logistics Management or Industrial Engineering

8. Minimum of five years of progressively responsible supply chain job experience
