As Environmental, Health and/or Safety Manager, you will provide leadership, mentoring and direction to hourly, salaried and management personnel engaged in Environmental, Health, and/or Safety (EHS) activities related to a large business unit or corporate EHS programs and plans. You may also be involved in establishing compliance strategies and development of budgets to help with EHS compliance of corporate standards and current government regulations along with planning for the impact of developing regulations.


Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

* Manage 3 to 10 environmental/health/safety staff and support personnel
* Coach and facilitate the development of the work group
* Coordinate planning, organization, and implementations of environmental/health/safety programs
* Prepare presentations for training and communications at the facility, business unit, or corporate level as required
* Maintain relationships with regulatory and government agency personnel
* Investigate and establish standards for protective equipment
* Audit safety/health/environmental programs for compliance with company standards, government regulations, and adequacy relative to local conditions
* Monitor periodic performance reports for trends and conditions and alerts all levels of management on actions that are required
* Generate and/or review of reports for environmental (EPA) and safety (OSHA) agencies
* Develop environmental/health/safety strategy in response to upcoming regulations or emerging trends
* Identify common and more complex safety/health/environmental hazards inherent in the
organizations operations, and establishes guidelines for protection from those hazards
* Coordination with Public Affairs in the preparation of responses to external stakeholders on environmental/health/safety issues
* Represent Caterpillar at National and International environmental/health/safety Organizations.

Required Qualifications:

* Technical degree
* Strong understanding of environmental/health/safety regulations
* Excellent human relations skills

* Advanced degree/job-related certifications
* 6 to 9 years previous job-related experience
* Experience working with regulatory agencies
