JOB SUMMARY

* Lead equipment design engineering team, which possesses the highest degree of filter production equipment knowledge in the business. The group is responsible for developing equipment to manufacture customized filters for biopharmaceutical, medical device, diagnostic, printing and general industrial applications. Equipment is delivered to the manufacturing teams in a timely, consistent and high quality manner. Ensure effective communications with manufacturing by providing technical link between the process engineering, manufacturing and quality. Develop people, technology and tools that continuously improve the department’s performance while exceeding customer expectations.

ROLE SUMMARY

* Technical project management; resource allocation; manufacturing interaction; Seeks out, develops, integrates and applies strategies, systems and technologies to ensure customer specific filtration projects are executed to the highest standards in the global bioprocess, medical device, diagnostic, printing and general industrial markets.


Essential Functions

* Equipment Engineering： Gather and apply appropriate technical resources to custom equipment programs which support global business growth objectives and strategies. Ensure the equipment operation is fully understood and provide the link between process development, manufacturing and quality. Deliver efficiently designed, fully functioning equipment designs, which meet or exceed specifications, are on time, on budget to internal stakeholders. Ensure cross functional effective communication throughout projects to achieve high manufacturing efficiency and quality. 40%
* Personnel Development: Provide training, experiential opportunities and regular feedback for equipment engineers, manufacturing leads and equipment operators which allow them the best opportunities for personal and professional growth. Hire and develop new employees to meet the need of the business as it is today and what is needed to maintain a competitive edge in the future. Set team and individual objectives, develop metrics in harmony with strategic objectives and ensure team members have the tools needed for successful implementation of objectives. 25%
* Technology Leadership: Seek out innovative technologies which can be applied to filtration production in support of global business objectives. Implement appropriate technologies which continuously improve current processes and expand department capabilities. Actively participate in development of automated systems. Position the department to effectively meet new opportunities and future market challenges. 10%
* Manufacturing Process Support – Plan and support optimization and upgrade of existing manufacturing equipment. 25%


Complexity of Role

The role is responsible to ensure that the equipment engineering core competencies of the SBU continue to evolve in support of future business objectives. Constant attention must be paid to implementing new technologies and training employees with new and highly technical skills. The leader must implement standards of operation where few currently exist and ensure they are carried out on a global basis to reflect the multinational corporations the team interacts with daily. The equipment design engineering function provides interfaces with the process development engineering team and the manufacturing organization. The position participates in the development of complex custom product opportunities, often representing multi-million dollar potential sales.


QUALIFICATIONS

* Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical engineering
* 5-10 years experience in development of custom manufacturing equipment for molding and assembling polymer products.
* Personnel management, technology implementation, project management
* High level of human relations, verbal and written communication skills
* High level of equipment engineering knowledge for polymer processing and assembly of polymer components
* Knowledge of production of filtration products in a clean room environment
