Financial Manager/Controller

The Financial Controller will implement the complete financial and accounting

functions of the China operations in a global reporting environment. Functions

include but are not limited to preparation of interim and final financial statements

with supporting schedules, financial analyses of operations, implementing sound

financial plans, policies and practices, maintenance of fiscal records, tax

compliance, internal controls, cost accounting, budgeting and forecasting, audit

coordination, and compliance with accounting regulations, statutory filings and

the parent company.

She/He will report directly to the General Manager and functionally (dotted line)

to the Business Unit Controller.

Establish good relation with local authorities will be one of the most important

tasks from the beginning.

Responsibilities

? Ensures the day-to-day Finance functions are performed in an efficient and

effective manner, in accordance with global reporting formats while meeting

dedicated timelines. This includes the preparation and submission of timely

financial statements to BU controller and to the General Manager.

? Maintains the companies' systems of accounts and bank accounts, and

financial records on all company transactions, cash and assets.

? Maintains these books, transactions and records in accordance with Hong

Kong/Chinese tax laws and accounting regulations.

? Manages and controls cash flow through daily reports and forecast. Provides

supervision over bank accounts and maintains excellent working relationship with

banking institutions.

? Prepares and submits financial reports and statutory filings required by Chinese

authorities at various levels. Oversees all tax and regulatory/compliance issues in

both Peoples Republic of China and Hong Kong.

? Prepares financial analyses of manufacturing operations with supporting

schedules, and offers guidance and recommendations to the management team.

? Provides effective financial controls for the organization, including management

of cash, annual audits, tax compliance audits and internal control audits.

? Coordinates and directs financial audits ensuring proper interface with external

auditors and timely completion of all audit procedures.

? Develops, implements and ensures the adherence of finance plans and internal

control policies according to Group requirements; emphasizing proper control

over income and expenses; safeguarding of company assets, and secure the

completeness and accuracy of records.

? Produces analyses of manufacturing performance KPI (ie productivity, specific

consumption, scrap rate, etc)

? Evaluates new investments and Cost Reduction Plans.

? Coordinates and directs the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts,

institutes and maintains other planning and control procedures, including but not

limited to the cost accounting system, and analyzes and reports variances.

? Coordinates and directs the preparation of the standard costs for each product

and ensures a proper variance analysis.

? Works as part of an international finance team and represents the interests of

the China Operations effectively to the B.U. Central Office. Able to satisfy matrix

reporting requirements.

? Responsible for evaluating the performance of personnel in the Accounting

Departments recommending training requirements and keep the staff at the

highest level of skill necessary to meet company needs and objectives. Motivates

staff by providing timely and accurate feedback, dealing with situations fairly,

consistently and according to corporate policy. Provides guidance/mentoring and

training to China finance operations by maintaining strong communication lines

and presence. Conducts formal annual performance evaluations of

staff.

Requirements

As Financial Manager/Controller, he/she needs to have

1. strong cost accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing companies and

2. excellent working knowledge and experience in both Chinese Accounting Standards and International Accounting Standards/International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS, PRC GAAP and tax regulations).

3. Significant Forecast and Annual Budgeting experience.

4. Prior responsibility for external audits for quarterly reviews and annual audits.

5. 5+ years of experience in financial management. In a multinational company, ideally an European one.

6. Excellent understanding of both Chinese and European business methods and culture.

7. Hands-on management style and culturally sensitive.

8. Excellent computer skills including MS Office with emphasis on Excel and knowledge of ERP/MRP systems.

9. A seasoned, communicative leader with executive demeanor and excellent leadership and team building and change management skills. Strong people management skills and capable of independently managing a team in PRC, while reporting overseas.

10. Fluent in English and Mandarin (read, write, speak) mandatory;

11. Possess skills to clearly present information through the spoken and written work, influence or persuade others in a desired direction to achieve objectives.

12. Good business acumen combined with demonstrated sense of urgency.

13. Strong organizational skills - able to organize or schedule people to tasks, develop realistic action plans while being sensitive to time constraints and resource availability.
