Job Title: General Manager-Beijing
Job Responsibilities:
The General Manager will manage and run the company. This includes strategic thinking and the development of the company's goals and directions over the short/medium/long term; constant product innovation, business development across channels and form strategic partnerships with vendors and clients, develop new areas of business, leadership and team development and succession planning.
Job Description:
-Development and Execution of Strategic Business Plans:
The General Manager will compile budgets every year.
-Product Innovation and Product development
-Business development
The pipeline should be constantly growing and enquiries should move faster with quality action enabling to maximize a) Size of pipeline b) Hit Rate and c) Customer satisfaction. Accounts should be chosen for their potential size and growth rate and their strategic impact to develop the company's objectives.
-Building and managing existing strategic partners both with Vendors and Clients:
Partners should be sought out with key reasons identified to do business for future growth and careful planning should be in place for such selection. Existing Vendor and Client base should also be defined clearly with those relationships that are deemed strategic and consequently built into better relationships via both absolute growth and the quality of the relationship.
-Development of new areas of business:
New opportunities should be continuously sought. The actual development of new business may be reviewed as part of the long term strategic planning.
-Leadership and team development and succession planning:
The General Manager will develop a strong, happy and energized organization and continuously review same as the business grows. The General Manager will ensure that the team members will all be driven, passionate, pro-active, skilled with positive attitudes and always aligning with the core values of the company. The team must be nurtured with training and development and clear career paths will be created for members. Clear job descriptions will be designed and performance "smart" goals set with definable short/medium/long term targets. This action will be constantly reviewed at half way and completion points.
-Systems and Processes:
The General Manager will ensure that systems and processes are in place to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
-P&L and Balance Sheet responsibility:
The General Manager will be ultimately responsible for the P&L.
Job Requirement:
Education/Work Experience/Knowledge/Skill:
-University graduate, with a MBA is preferred.
-Proven track record in business management at senior strategic level.
-Extensive experience in business development is a must.
-Excellent command in written and spoken English and Mandarin.
-Solid track record in building and leading teams.

-The financial KPIs will be governed by:
a) Absolute net profit.
b) Gross profit margin.
c) Profit growth.
d) Return on Investment.
-The business KPIs will be governed by:
a) Size and quality of the enquiry pipeline and the hit rate in winning business from within the pipeline. This will be a good guide also to indicate future year's growth.
b) The quality of the relationships with strategic vendors and clients in terms of satisfaction.
c) The quantity and quality of new innovative product innovation.
d) Margin management.
e) The development of a strong 2nd tier management level with succession planning in place.
-Performance Appraisal dimensions:
5 solid dimensions in the General Manager performance:
a) Leadership-how well he motivates and energizes the company culture, reinforcing its mission and values.
b) Strategy-how well it has been developed and how well it is working. Whether the company is well aligned behind it and that it is being effectively implemented.
c) People management.
d) Operational effectiveness and resultant customer satisfaction.
e) Relationships with clients.
