职位描述

Minimum Qualifications

? Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Engineering including the study of Fluid Mechanics.
? 7 years minimum Manufacturing and / or Design / Development experience in the automotive industry, particularly in the area of engine / transmission components. Must include relevant experience in casting design, design for manufacture, design for serviceability, machining and assembly methodology and processes.
? Minimum 5 years experience designing and developing oil pumps and /or hydraulic lubrication and / or hydraulic actuation systems. Must be able to demonstrate superior system and component level knowledge.
? 3 years automotive program management experience preferably including full program life cycle through all phases of APQP (e.g. including concept design, prototype / validation cycles, implementation of mass production equipment and suppliers, start of production and continuous improvement).
? Exceptional organizational and communication skills both verbal and written in English. Native in Chinese Mandarin is highly desirable. German or Korean Language capability is a plus.
? Must be a self-starter, able to work in a Global team environment and travel as required
? Minimum 3 years experience in the companies located in North America or Europe is highly desirable.


Technical Skills Requirements

? Demonstrated knowledge of oil pump technologies both from design / development and manufacturing, including latest industry technologies and trends.
? Demonstrated experience leading design or engineering project teams, preferably on a global basis.
? Ability to lead technical reviews / discussions surrounding product design and manufacturing with the customers, global team members and suppliers.
? Ability to review & critique 3D / 2D detailed engineering models and prints for accuracy and manufacturability.
? Knowledge of ANSI, SAE, ISO9001 / TS16949 / QS9000, APQP procedures, quality engineering, supplier management, blue print reading and advanced measuring techniques.
? Knowledge of GD&T, QFD, Design for Serviceability, Design for Assembly, Design for Manufacture, VE / VA, DOE, FTA, Process Flow Diagrams, Control Plans, Quote Procedures / Contract review, Failure Mode Effect Analysis (DFMEA / PFMEA), 8D analysis and Dimensional Stack Analysis.
? Knowledge of product testing, validation and analysis techniques (including development of DVP&R’s to support robust product designs).
? Knowledge of techniques and processes used to produce prototype components.
? Knowledge and experience of project / program management techniques (including creation / maintenance of project time lines and budgets).
? Computer literate (i.e. Microsoft Office and basic knowledge in CAD/CAM/FEA/CFD packages)
? Commercial awareness applicable to discuss design concepts and proposals at prototype and production level.
? Customer focused attitude to meeting project goal and objectives. Understanding of approach needed to deal with customers and suppliers particularly in situations where problems have arisen or deadlines are tight.
? Superior presentation skills.
? Demonstrated negotiation skills.



Primary Function

Lead and guide technical work and responsible for development engineering for the Fluid Pressure and Controls Group engineering team based in Powertrain Engineering Center China, Changzhou, China

The Technical Specialist will support engineering team of design engineers in the research and development of engine / transmission lubrication and actuation components, modules and systems. They will plan and facilitate the insourcing or outsourcing of work packages (i.e. research projects, CAD modelling, drawings, CAE analyses, etc.) to the global and regional teams. In particular, they must be able to interface with several Powertrain divisions, FP&C regional groups. This will require them to effectively communicate with global engineering team, end customer, regional leads and divisions in order to meet all project objectives. Frequent interaction will be required in the form of conference calls, face to face visits, presentations, workshops and training sessions.

Participate as an “expert” during company gate and design reviews. Challenge regional groups to make sure that best practises, key design guides and procedures are being followed. Executes and / or supports engineering audits of regional group projects, which includes at a minimum review of drawings and technical files. Challenges internal organization during risk assessments to highlight problems before being passed on to the customers.

They will produce estimates and quotations for prototypes, engineering services and engineering research projects. Finally, they will act as project lead for key engineering programs, following up on activities that have been allocated specifically (e.g. following up on and making sure timing is met for testing, analysis work, drawing release, etc.).

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Responsible to evaluate, distribute and manage work packages that are allocated to global regional teams based on workloading, capabilities and details of work requests, as determined in conjunction with global lead.
2. Responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all work packages sent and returned from global teams (i.e. BOM, tolerance/fits, GD&T specifications, dimensional stacks, etc.).
3. Facilitate the RFQ process with support of project engineering for prototypes, fixtures, benchmarking samples, dealer components, materials, etc. developing detailed budgets for assigned projects.
4. Respond to incoming RFQ’s for Engineering Services and Prototypes, (e.g. divisions, regional teams, customers, etc.) and work with project engineering to develop quotations, obtain required approvals, organise job awardment meetings and maintain the quotation log file.
5. Produce and / or audit prototype or development cost estimates and budgets for engineering projects allocated to the CoE, regional or global teams. Track prototype, engineering service and FP&CG SR&ED budgets and monitor profitability, where applicable reporting variance, for assigned projects.
6. Participate & support APQP and GPMS activities as an active core team member for assigned projects.
7. Create and/or audit timing plans for engineering projects, (including SR&ED projects), within FP&CG. Monitor progress of assigned projects or provide support to the team or individuals responsible. Participate & support project engineering on completion of SR&ED projects.
8. Monitor progress, via project engineering, of prototypes and build activities for assigned projects, ensuring that purchase orders are issued, inspection requests are raised and QA approved parts are used in builds, to guarantee timely delivery to the customer.
9. Undertake liaison between Engineering, Customers and Suppliers for drawing review, Engineering Changes, specification reviews, technical / commercial issues, supplier questions etc.
10. Provides support for Global Lead in preparation of engineering information and the execution of his responsibilities, specifically in the areas of global capacity and capabilities planning, Customer presentations, training and technology workshops.
11. Participates as an “expert” during company gate reviews. Challenges regional groups to make sure that best practises, key design guides and procedures are being followed. Executes and / or supports engineering audits of regional group projects, which includes at a minimum review of drawings and technical files. Challenges internal organization during risk assessments to highlight problems before being passed on to the customers.
12. Develop and maintain key customer relationships.
13. Maintain consistency, via auditing, of quote and technical review packages created by regional groups.
14. Provide technical support for strategic and pricing decisions as required.
15. Provide support to divisional launches and production & warrantee issues. This may include updates to MPT’s global knowledge base in the form of design guides and lessons learned.
16. Leverage MPT expertise to reach root causes quickly as a participant of engineering task forces.
17. Undertakes other duties and responsibilities within MPT FP&CG, as required by Regional Engineering Manager.
18. Initiates plans and ideas for cost reduction and / or quality improvement measures.
19. Supports regional teams as required in Customer presentations, quoting and technical reviews in the area of oil pump components, modules or systems.
20. Interfaces with global lead, regional teams, divisions, sub-contractors and Tier II vendors to coordinate overall design of components and assemblies for activities.
21. Ensures all meetings are minuted, circulated and filed accordingly.
22. Maintains proper filing systems to ensure all information, (electronic or hard copy), is properly stored and easily retrieved.
23. Follows and enforces the guidelines and rules as defined in the Employee Handbook and Company policies.
24. May involve working extended or hours to meet working objectives.
