Key Accountabilities

- Work with machining manager, ensures an in-time, cost effective and efficient production process in the required quality and quantity in compliance with all legal requirements (environment, health and safety) and internal production policies.

- In agreement with machining manager, be responsible for staff (foreman, shift leader, shop floor planner and operator) retention, recruitment, training and development within the area of responsibility.

- Work close with production planner (SCM) to ensure availability of necessary production means (people, material, methods and machines), in accordance with production plan and standards.
- Manage machines to ensure their capability and capacity in close collaboration with maintenance department.

- Manage material flow in between production steps to ensure material safety, process efficiency, identification and traceability in collaboration with Quality control and warehouse (SCM).

- Work with machining manager to analyses the production process in the area of responsibility related to quality, cost efficiency.

- Direct Lean (e.g. 5S, safety, OEE,TPM) implementation and continuous improvements in machining shop.

- Manage staff objective setting and performance evaluation.

Preferred Knowledge / Skills / Experiences

- College or university degree in Engineering

- Over 4 years' manufacturing experience in a machining shop with CNC lathes, milling machines and conventional machines, with 2 years' experience in supervisor level. Single item production experience preferred.

- Strong knowledge in programming CNC lathes and milling machines (Software)

- Good knowledge in CAD preferred

- Solid knowledge of technical equipment (maintenance electrical and mechanical) preferred

- Strong communication and leadership skills in front of operators

- Skills of training people (QS; CNC; machining; lean manufacturing etc.)

- Must be able to work independently and a good team player as well

- Logical thinking and flexible to change

- Knowledge of local language and culture

- Good in English (listening, speaking, writing)

- Knowledge in IT solutions (MS Office is obligatory)

- Basic knowledge in ERP, MRP and PPS (SAP is preferable)

- Six sigma Green Belt preferred
