Role ( Part Time)

The main responsibility of the role is to strategize and plan such that the production and procurement of Sustainable cotton from our programs is aligned with the requirements of the customers. The role requires to monitor the flow of the Sustainable textile raw materials produced and ensure that there is continuity, assurance and credibility for all the supply chain linkages in China. It requires two or three working days per week.

Key Accountabilities:

• Supply chain mapping and LinkagesDevise and work as per the Supply chain SOP for various brands for the season (across Organic and REEL and various geographies)
• Taking the lead in linking CottonConnect’s various project farmers across different provinces with ginners and beyond.
• He/She takes the responsibility of overseeing procurement of cotton, planning, scheduling, inventory management, mapping with different stakeholders of the Cotton / textile supply chain.
• Conduct Supply chain mappings and Value chain assessments for international brands.
• Identify the bottle necks in Cotton supply chain and find solutions to mitigate it.
• Shall conduct/organize and manage supply chain events/workshops etc.

Verification Assurance and Traceability:

• He/She takes the ownership of CottonConnect’s traceability system ‘TraceBale’ and helps in monitoring periodical updates of data by various stakeholders.
• Work to get the ginners and supply chain partners compliant with the various certifications / Codes of Conducts (Organic, REEL etc.)
• Training the various stakeholders such as ginner, Spinner, Knitter/Weaver, Garment manufacturer and the Brand on TraceBale. Generate and furnish the Chain of Custody reports generated by TraceBale and validate the supply chain entries.
• Monitoring various processes such as ginning, Spinning, Knitting/Weaving and Garmenting at appropriate timing and conduct audits on supply chain Traceability implementation and credibility of the data.
• Verification of documents of all stakeholders of supply chain at least once in a season.

Others:

• Understand and keep abreast with global trends in textile industry in general and sustainability in particular.
• Supporting Commercial development and Business development team, whenever there is a need on any other aspects.

To be successful, the Supply Chain Support Consultant will have the following attributes:

Required (Must Haves):

• Knowledge and experience of the cotton textile supply chain and cotton sector in general and the various processes in textile industry
• Experience of working with international brands and supply chains (Experience in China, Pakistan and Bangladesh preferable)
• Strong communication (both written & spoken) and attentive listening abilities
• Good experience at Stakeholder management and facilitation and nurturing partnerships
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment with respect for diversity and gender balance
• Strong interests and willingness to interact with farmers and ginners in all the ways and build solid ties with them.

Good to Haves:

• Complete understanding of textile sustainability including knowledge on Organic; proven keen interest in the issues of sustainability, preferably in textile industry.
• Good with technological systems (procurement planning, inventory management and traceability).
• Experience working with global / international organizations.
• Ability to work independently, to take initiative, and engage others.
• Willingness and ability to travel frequently.

Experience:

• At least 7-10 years’ experience of working in a textile supply chain role
• Experience and understanding of Textile Traceability
• Adequate knowledge of using traceability softwares preferable, but not mandatory
• Knowledge on project management, monitoring and evaluation

Qualifications / Skills:

• Preferably degree in Textile technology or University degree with knowledge on textile, or equivalent higher education qualification
• Knowledge on working with various computer programs such as MS-word, Excel, Power point etc.
• High Analytical skills of various reports and data sets.
• Timely management reporting
