Job Title: Project Engineer (CPM)

Position Summary
Responsible for providing Chemical Engineering expertise for Capital Project work and retrofit projects. Provide plant with chemical engineering expertise.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Participates in conceptual engineering (opportunity and alternative analysis) project phase, reporting to project engineer, by providing technical consultation on chemical related issues.
Has a minor role in front end engineering. When front-end engineering is done with in-house resources, responsible for: technical consultation for chemical related issues, standards and codes, single line diagram, motor list, scope of work and deliverables for chemical discipline. If front-end engineering is done with external resources, this person takes responsibility to ensure that Cabot's chemical standards (written or unwritten) are followed and provides Project Engineer with technical review support. Extent of participation depends on size of project and perceived adequacy of external resources.
During Detail Design this person will provide technical review support for contract services. Extent of participation depends on size of project and perceived adequacy of external resources.
Provide equipment troubleshooting during startup and operation.
May be required to execute all facets of a project, including project management of projects that have mainly chemical components.
Plant fix assets management, including FA register, disposal and timely checking.
Maintain plant technical files updated.
Plant PHA coordinator.

Required Skills

Must be a self-starter. Have excellent management and organizational skills.
Must have excellent computer skills.
Excellent communication, verbal and written, and presentation skills are a must.
Must have excellent plant troubleshooting skills.
Must be able to work on project teams with multiple disciplines and multiple departments.

Education/Experience

Requires a minimum of a B.S. in Engineering Discipline (i.e. Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Control, and Instrumentation).
Three to five years minimum Project Execution experience.
