Responsibilities
Serve as an internal information security consultant to the organization. Develop, implement, manage, and monitor security controls, processes, policies, and compliance. Provide expertise and security direction to engineering teams to eliminate and mitigate security issues. Set security standards and security architecture designs. Research, recommend, and implement changes to procedures and systems to enhance system security. Work with external and internal resources to perform security assessments and audits of application and infrastructure portfolio.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or Information Technology with 3 to 5 years of work experience
3+ years of Red Hat / CentOS Linux Server administration experience
In-depth understanding of Linux fundamentals including kernel sub-systems, system calls, inter-process communication, process / resource management, and file systems
Comprehensive knowledge of firewalls, load balancers, and switches
A minimum 3 years of experience in information security matters (policy, architecture, technology, etc.)
Hands-on information security experience with security architecture, network security, and/or computing platform security
In general, we are looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented self-starter that can take full ownership of projects and act with limited supervision
The security officer must be strong with creative problem solving and analytical skills in nature
This person must be results oriented with aggressiveness in meeting commitments
The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential
This person must be entrepreneurial and driven by a new challenge
Strong communication skills are essential
You must be self motivated, energetic, and tenacious
You must also be flexible and responsive to changing situations
Carrying expertise in
- malware and other Cyber threats
- host-based mitigation technologies
- network-based mitigation technologies
- mobile computing technologies
- architecting secure systems
- host and network administration
- intrusion response activities

- Ability to work in a teaming environment and willingness to lead team efforts.
- Strong written and oral communications skills
- Programming and software reverse engineering experience
- Penetration testing experience
- Knowledge of DoD networks and the capabilities deployed to secure them
Certifications, to include CISSP, NET+, Security+, or other relevant experience shall also be considered.
