Job Position: Process Engineer

The Standard Plant Products (SPP) Team in China has an opening for a Process Engineer reporting to the Process Technology Team Manager. In this position, the incumbent will support process engineering activities for product, project, and proposal efforts within the SPP team. The project portfolio is expected to focus on Cryogenic Air Separation and Oxygen Vacuum Swing Adsorption (VSA) plants, but may also include Small Hydrogen Plants, Hydrogen Pressure Swing Adsorbers (PSAs), and Nitrogen PSAs.

Principal responsibilities of this position are as follows:

1. Process Flow Diagram (PFD) review and development.

2. Generation of Heat & Material Balances (H&MBs) for projects via ASPEN Plus or other design tools.

3. Contribute to Piping & Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID) development, and to Hazard and Operability reviews.

4. Specification of gas processing equipment such as machinery, heat exchangers, distillation columns, and adsorption systems.

5. Duty specification of control valves and relief valves.

6. Performance testing and troubleshooting efforts at plant facilities.

Qualifications for the position are as follows:

1. B.S. / M.S. in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.

2. At least three years of applicable work experience, preferably Process Simulation / Process Design / Plant Operations.

3. Ability to schedule personal workload and manage project commitments.

4. Be self-motivating and have strong interpersonal and communication skills.

5. Familiarity with ASPEN Plus is preferred.

   Be willing to travel globally for start-up and field support activities as needed, up to about 15% of the time.
