SUMMARY OF JOB:
The product manager is responsible for the development and execution of the GCN Plan of Record for revenue and profitability. The role of the Business Development Manager is to be the interface between the LOB and GCN region to develop, manage and support the appropriate E&S Product Segment business in the Zone.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Product expert for region
• Works with E&S Segment LOB and Regional Zone to develop annual product POR for region.
• Responsible for execution of revenue and profit plan
• Works with Market Intelligence group to assess market opportunities for region
• Provides support for sales people as needed in qualifying new opportunities and closing
• Regional representative on NPD team for product development. Will ensure that products are fully tested and meet regulatory requirements.
• Regional approver in product introduction process
• Works with training teams on providing regional content to and delivery of sales and technical training for product
• Identifies & manages local sales tools requests, including white papers, competitive comparisons and systems data
• Responsible for competitive product pricing analysis for the region
• Ensures product pricing consistency across region
• Escalate all product quality issues
• Provides Voice-of-the-Customer feedback serving as primary Zone contact for product VOC issues
• Maintains regional top needs requests and Crystal Ball entries based on Zone needs
• Works closely with E&S team to suggest and develop new products, messaging, positioning and value propositions
• Approves regional internal/external product announcements
• Validates technical information on any marketing content
• Sales trend analysis by country
• Provide Marcom support for webinars, webcasts, trade shows, conferences etc
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:
• Responsible for best practices
• Support of programs and projects as defined in the Corporate Projects & Marketing Programs data base
EDUCATION-MINIMUM REQUIRED LEVEL:
• Engineering Degree
• MBA preferred
EXPERIENCE-MINIMUM REQUIRED:
• 2 years in sales to professionals (must)
• 2 years product management (nice)
• 2 year experience in the automation, building control, or building management systems (ex. : Johnson Controls or TAC)
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
• Automation / Building Management System
• MS Project, Excel, PPT etc
• Excellent spoken and written English essential.
• Excellent communication, presentation, organization and analytical planning skills
• Results oriented; customer focused and ability to thrive in a dynamic environment while maintaining focus on achieving the goal
• Track record of delivery
• Persistent, courageous (not afraid to question decisions)
• Ability to work well under pressure to deadlines
TRAVEL:
• Domestic and international travel as needed
