What we offer:

• Generates innovative adhesive concepts and ideas to initiate, develop, and expand business opportunities for Henkel Adhesives
• Works in partnership with other functional teams in Henkel Adhesives to develop new adhesive technologies and application processes
• Provides advice/guidance to establish and maintain required capabilities (i.e. technologies, training, hiring, resource realignment, capacities, etc.)
• Ensures overall project advancement in the utmost speed and quality
• §Responsible for (helping project teams) running adhesive research and development projects with best strategies and best science.
• §Strong, smooth interfaces and technology transfer to PD's
• Develops best strategies and ensures maximized probability of success through a network of internal and external scientific experts.
• Independently conceives, sets-up and carries out complex experimental plans and procedures without day-to-day supervision, but with discussion and consensus as appropriate
• Generates, interprets and reports on data, even where little casual relationships have previously existed
• Establishes close relationship with external customers to understand their businesses and applications and to keep abreast of technology and market trends. Maintains close ties with internal customers, including business, marketing, operations, tech service, and PD to identify emerging R & D opportunities
• Writes periodically technical reports, trip reports, project reports, patent disclosures, and publishable technical papers
• Maintains a high level of technical awareness by reviewing current literature and attending relevant conferences and short courses
• Ensures staff safety by identifying hazards, training lab personnel, and maintaining all SHE requirements

Who we are looking for:

· MS or PhD in chemistry or chemical engineering, with substantial experience in the polymer chemistry and processing

· Track record of capabilities evidenced by new technologies and products developed, invention disclosures/patents/paper

· Minimum 5 years of experience in polymer chemistry (either academic or industrial).

· Proven track record of team participation, contribution and effective interaction with production, marketing/sales and customer personnel

· Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

· Experience with product development, specifically optically clear adhesives, is preferred. Adhesives application knowledge is desirable

· Must be willing and able to travel to customer sites and production facilities as required
