SUMMARY OF JOB
.The Field Service Engineer's (FSE) primary role is to provide customer-site field repair, commissioning, installation supervision and modification of APC UPS (uninterruptible power supply) systems.
.In direct contact with the customer, the FSE is the connection between customer and after sales service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
. Performs installation supervision and commissioning of APC products including the batteries.
. Performs maintenance for APC UPS equipment including batteries and power distribution system.
. Solve UPS problems at customers site and provides reports on these issues.
. Responsible for identifying and reporting failure modes encountered when in the field. Also responsible for determining the cause of these failures.
. Trains customers on equipment operation and maintenance of APC products.
. Interact with customers by phone or face to face
. Represents APC in dealing with customer concerns
. Acquisition of Customer Service products.
. Fill in all required reports and complete the necessary documents
. 24 hours stand by if necessary
. Not exposing himself, anyone else or properties to a danger.
. Travelling internationally up to 75%.
SECONDARY DUTIES
. Present all the offers of service, propose new services to the customer
. Offer feedback on future product development, features and functions
. Give feedback from customer about the product
. On-the-job training of new field service engineers
JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION—MINIMUM REQUIRED LEVEL:
. Electrical technician with min. 3 years experience in field service/ BS degree of Electrical Engineering or equivalent
EXPERIENCE—MINIMUM REQUIRED:
. Up to 2 years related experience
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS —REQUIRED:
. Electrical Engineering or equivalent
. Strong knowledge of electronic theory to component level
. Good computer skill
. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. Other languages are favourable
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS —DESIRED BUT NOT ESSENTIAL:
. Knowledge of others cultures and experience of travels
