Operations General Manager, China

The Company

Company is a fundamental departure from traditional manufacturing concentration to a total gas application focus. Selling "solutions" to the world's growing demand for a broad range of new products, technologies, and applications is the defining characteristic of the company. They comprise four complementary manufacturing and service businesses that, combined, form the world's leading technology, service, and manufacturing network for gas applications involving pressure vessels and precision valves. They operate 20 manufacturing, sales, warehouse, and service facilities in six countries on four continents and markets its products in over 80 countries worldwide.

The Position

This individual must have tactical hands-on application experience with proven cultural change leadership experience and an overpowering bias towards action.

This position is critical to the performance and continued growth of the manufacturing plant.

Reports to: Global Vice President Operations for division

Direct Reports: Management and hourly employees from the following departments- manufacturing, manufacturing engineering, materials, purchasing, shipping

Key Accountabilities:

Lead the manufacturing plant operation to drive culture change and commitment around safety, quality, talent management and development, employee engagement, diversity, and operational excellence.
Ensures plant's goals and objectives are directly aligned with the company's objectives.
Maintain and improve all capital equipment related to production.
Lead deployment of a world-class manufacturing system with intense focus on driving and institutionalizing continuous improvement and waste elimination through lean manufacturing.
Ensures the safe manufacturing of product that is delivered to the customer meeting regulatory standards.
Efficient utilization of plant personnel and equipment to maximize productivity and cost effectiveness in meeting the plant's business plan.
Manages and accountable for operational expenses.
Actively manages the continued training, development, and growth of all plant employees.
Sets clear expectations of performance and establishes, communicates, and regularly reviews "commitments" to make certain milestones are achieved as planned, quality, cost, and delivery.
Flawlessly execute new production lines and company directed initiative.

Experience Required:

We seek an accomplished manager with a minimum of ten years hands-on operations leadership experience running an 120 plus employees organization.
Prefer a candidate with a strong knowledge of Lean concepts including but not limited to- 5's, visual controls, value stream mapping, kaizen techniques, TPM, experience implementing and sustaining daily improvement management concepts, policy deployment, etc
BS (four-year) degree in a related field of study is strongly preferred. However, candidates without a BS degree having extensive experience will be considered.

Fluent in Mandarin and English
Experience with foreign based multinational organizations
