ABOUT THE COMPANY

Our client is a pioneering biotechnology company located in Shanghai, focusing in protein-based regenerative medicine. The company's novel patented technologies pioneer a high efficient protein-induced pluripotent stem cell technology and a safe protein-induced in-vivo tissue reprogramming technology to treat several major human diseases and to restore organ function of heart, eye, liver, pancreas and brain in vivo. We are particularly passionate in development of new stem cell therapies for eye diseases using our new protein based stem cell regenerative strategy.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking outstanding scientists to join our R&D team as a Principle Investigator, to lead the major effort in developing novel in vivo regenerative strategies and tissue engineering techniques to treat eye diseases. For example, we are particularly passionate in development of new stem cell therapies to treat retinal diseases .

The successful candidate should share our passion and embrace our values of innovation, compassion, and clinical-focusing. Ideal candidates will have a degree in clinical medicine and a strong track record of scientific productivity and contribute to interdisciplinary teams in industry. She/He will perform top-quality, high impact research in stem cell and retinal tissue engineering and regeneration to treat retinal diseases using animal models. She/He will also be able to work with clinicians for treatment of eye diseases using animal model initially and later to work with clinicians on human clinical trials to treat these eye diseases including glaucoma. The successful candidate will be expected to have a high level of responsibility to design, execute and analyze experiments, and collaborate with internal and external partners. He/she will also participate collaborations with academic laboratories both in China and in the US.

The position will be located in Shanghai. Company will provide multiple carrier development opportunity, overseas training environment and competitive salary.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

 - PhD degree in stem cell in ophthalmology
 - Experience in animal models of eye diseases
 - Experience with cell culture and cell-based assay
 - Demonstrated excellence ability in planning, executing, and analyzing experiments
 -Able to troubleshoot, solve challenging problems, improve processes, be detail oriented and maintain
   excellent records
 - Excellent oral and written communication skills, able to write technical reports and protocols, excellent
   organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION

- MD degree with clinical experience in ophthalmology is a major plus
- Previous hands-on experience with animal models of eye disease
- Experience and knowledge of regenerative medicine and tissue engineering
- 2 years of industrial or post-doctoral experiences
