Amazon Product Imaging builds the world’s best online shopping experience through photography, video, graphic design, and usability design enabling millions of customers to make more informed purchasing decisions. Amazon is looking for a skilled Visual Design Associate to be a part of imaging operations in a fast paced corporate environment. In this role you will be part of the Digital Imaging team which is responsible for operations supporting the post-production of high-quality imagery to deliver a best-in-class e-commerce customer experience. This is a hands-on design role, and you will be expected to be a self-starter who has the ability to meet fast paced ever demanding deadlines. You will solve complex visual problems, working with beautiful imagery, experimenting with type, and collaborating with brilliant creatives in a fast-paced imaging industry environment.
Responsibilities
? Design marketing and promotional materials including but not limited to email campaigns, site flip scheduling designs and off-site banners, maintaining high productivity, quality standards and meeting turnaround time targets.
? Use business requirements and market research to assist in developing scenarios, use cases, and high level requirements by employing conceptual diagrams, wireframes, visual mockups, click-throughs, and prototypes.
? Create user-centered designs by considering market analysis, customer feedback, site metrics, and usability findings.
? Work with a multi-disciplinary team to evaluate the feasibility of proposed solutions
? Develop and maintain detailed templates and specifications for all use cases
? Work closely with Art Directors, photographers, copywriters and site merchandisers to ensure quality control. Exhibit an ability to follow creative lead as expected, and also push the creative envelope in a constructive, memorable way with the customer in mind.
? Act as a Subject Matter Expert for visual design for one or more design categories, resolving customer queries, troubleshooting when needed, as well as training and mentoring new employees.
Basic qualifications
? Degree in Graphic Design or Visual communication or equivalent
? Professional experience in Graphic Designing
? Advanced Photoshop Skills
? Proficiency with MS Office, especially MS Excel
? Experience with web-based graphics, icon design and illustration
Preferred qualifications
? Work experience in high-end retouching and color correction
? Familiarity with Mac OSX networking protocols, including scripting capabilities
? Experience in fashion soft lines preferably in an online capacity
? Knowledge of the fashion industry and how it pertains to online sales
? Good written and verbal communication skills
? Ability to drive the design review cycle and close on design requirements independently
