SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
"*" denotes an essential function of the job
1.*Plan, develop, implement, direct and evaluate the Business Unit’s organization’s Product, Process and Manufacturing engineering function. Manages employees in those areas including recruitment of qualified personnel, performance management, scheduling, corrective action, etc.
2.* Manages product design from design to execution, installation and field performance.
3.*Provides engineering expertise in areas of tooling, prints, specifications, raw materials and vended products throughout the organization.
4.*Recommends methods, materials and layouts for improvement based on manufacturing needs and capabilities.
5.*Drives culture change to instill focus on Lean Enterprise and continuous process improvements throughout the Business Unit.
6.*Provides technical guidance and ensures the application of sound engineering principles and procedures. Develops and directs procedures and methods to ensure quality and safety standards of new and improved product designs are met and maintained.
7.*Introduces new technology to Martin.
8.*Development and manage annual department budget.
9.*Initiates procedures which comply with Industrial safety and heathy requirements regarding safety issues of equipment, material safety data sheets, etc.
10.*Documents or revises ISO 9001 procedures to ensure compliance with established standards.
11.Assists employees in the development of their individual goals and monitors their performance towards the accomplishments of those goals; ensures individual's goals are aligned with the business strategy of Martin Engineering.
12.Prepares reports as required.
13.Functions as a contributing member of the Business Unit Management team and other teams, as assigned.
14.Attends Company and industry-related meetings, as required.
15.Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, experience and TRAINING
1.Four year degree in engineering required. Professional Engineering Registration preferred.
2.Five or more years of prior work related experience.
3.Two years experience in Lean Manufacturing environment.
4.Two or more years of supervisory experience.
