Scope of Responsibility:

The Network System Administrator is responsible for the implementation, upgrades, maintenance, and troubleshooting of all IT infrastructure and endpoint devices used by the school. The Network System Administrator will be a member of the IT support team for the school and will be the primary local owner and expert for all IT server, network, and endpoint infrastructure.  This position will liaise with key stakeholders, take initiative to solve problems, and create solutions at a root cause level.  Day-to-day work will entail extensive help desk support as well as system maintenance duties.

Major Duties:

· Take ownership for school’s end-to-end IT server, network, and endpoint infrastructure at workflow, functional, and system levels

· Process help desk tickets for end user support

· Take ownership for asset tracking and MDM for all school-owned devices

· Create and maintain system and workflow documentation

· Monitor and optimize server and network performance and stability levels

· Perform regular system audits to ensure system uptime, security, and integrity

· Maintain school server rooms and telecom closets

· Liase the website development and maintanence

· Design and lead disaster recovery processes 

· Manage relationships with application vendors and engage vendor support

· Work collaboratively in service to school staff to accomplish school goals

Required Qualifications, Skills, Experience and Attributes:

· Minimum 5 years relevant experience

· University degree 

· Working knowledge of TCP/IP protocol and network architecture

· VMWare, Windows, and/or Linux server administration

· PowerShell and/or Bash scripting

· Active Directory, Exchange, and Office 365 administration

· Excellent English communication in both verbal and written forms

· Team player with good interpersonal skills

· Initiative, reliability, leadership and professional work ethic

· Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, maintaining attention to detail and solving problems

· Ability to independently identify and complete required tasks and improve one’s technical and non-technical capabilities

· Regularly and independently learning new software systems and technology

· Demonstrate systems thinking

· At least two major technical certifications (eg. Microsoft, Cisco, VMWare, LPI, Kubernetes, etc)
