Job Purpose:

The Plumbing Category Manger (Expert) will be responsible for Sourcing, Developing and Managing our Plumbing specific products in China & SEA. Coordinate product & marketing policies/programs and develop pricing strategies with the goal of maximizing the firm's profits or share of the market while ensuring the firm's customers are satisfied. Oversee product development and monitor trends that indicate the need for new products and services.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Responsible for all development in plumbing category, Item project management & supply scouring.

Organize product design/engineering specs in Data Base and manage Product Spec Sheet

Work with existing factory base, concept and product review, product development, engineering file review, sample review & approval, packaging, cost.

Work with Factory Engineers to find solutions to product design and function needs.

Work closely with China Account Mangers to provide products that are appropriate for design, function, quality and Cost.

Manage product costs with China Account Mangers & USA Product Mangers/Sales.

Work closely with factory's engineering/merchandising department to source existing products, re-design existing products or create new products.

Work Closely with USA Product Manger to understand specific needs of Design, Function, Quality and Cost.

Manage plumbing projects within the work plan and given timelines.
Provide support to the GM
Develop high levels of plumbing expertise

Pro-active management of suppliers and

Ensure category strategies support US strategies.

Develop and support global sourcing opportunities

Work with the product Team to support the supplier data acquisition process.

Ongoing communication of key opportunities to Account Management

Undertake benchmarking to prove Best Market Pricing


Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Plumbing or Engineering preferred, technical experience in Plumbing Category a must (Faucets, Shower, Bath & Kitchen, Cabinets & Accessories).

Must speak, read and write excellent English, Strong presentation and writing skills

A minimum of 5 years direct experience with U.S. based companies bringing faucets into the U.S.

Currently works for or has experience with Mass Market USA retailers. Like Home Depot or Lowe's is a plus.

Good communication skills, initiative, solving problem, teamwork, Strong negotiation and relationship building skills

Able to Execute effective supplier negotiations and event driven cost reductions to meet overall category cost reductions.

Work effectively with functional departments to drive supplier improvement programs including upgrading supplier processes, quality systems and technology.

Able to lead a small group or work independently while staying focused on the goal.

Able to understand and follow the existing strategy of the Company's Leadership.

Expert MS Excel to create forecasts and profit analysis.

Must have the ability to travel frequently to Suppliers in China (70%) and be able to travel to USA when needed.
