ROLE PURPOSE     

Defining technical & quality parameters for Ceramic related new product development projects, especially ceramic basins and toilets based on input/discussions with Product Management. Build up and improve internal standards. Add from experience insights about customer expectations, quality parameters, potential suppliers, target cost, maintenance issues etc. into the development process. Drive together with project team assigned NPD projects to realization within time, cost, quality and specification.   

ACCOUNTABILITIES

？   Participate in New Product Development Projects within the defined teams and ensure project success in terms of launch date, target cost, specification and product quality.

？   Manage and ensure quality gate deliverables for assigned new product development projects

？   Translation of Product Specifications from product Concept into a technical specification. Develop technical drawings 2D/3D based on Design concept.

？   Leadership in respect to technical new product development and leading quality discussion with HQ and QS team regarding assigned new product development projects

？   Lead coordination & cooperation with selected suppliers in respect to product design, development and technical realization. Ensure to realize the design and spec within target cost.

？   Ensure coordination with HQ R&D Department as well as project team in respect to product development related tasks and FMEA

？   Collect standards, technical requirements and approvals for Chinese market and SEA markets. Establish & set up testing system & procedures to ensure full product compliance with local norms and standards

？   Develop together with QS quality control measures to ensure constant product quality over time

？   Execute NPD process according to Quality Gate Process & corresponding templates for assigned task

？   Lead communication process within project team and and all related departments in China/Germany as well as potential external suppliers.

？   Support project team in development of new product specification based on experience and customer insights.

Take responsibility for all quality, function and construction related product performance

Requirements on knowledge & skills:      

？   Experience in R&D related new product development tasks for ceramic sanitaryware.

？   Good knowledge and experience on toilet flushing technology and platforms

？   Experience in development of new products & leading either an internal development team or a supplier team

？   Good communication in English both speak and write

？   Engineering skills, experienced Pro/E, etc. user, product and market knowledge.

？   Willingness to travel.

？   Good communication skills and team spirit

Ability to read, analyze and interpret publications, reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to management, public groups and/or boards of directors.
