As a R&D Technology Manager Open Innovation Center, ABB Smart Buildings digitally transforms commercial, industrial and residential buildings for the highest comfort, efficiency, safety and security - enhancing quality of life in the buildings of the future, through sustainable electrification solutions, services and products.

You will contribute significantly to successful results in projects in Smart Buildings Business Line/ Electrification Business in Shenzhen/China country/NAS region. Reporting to the Head of R&D Building Automation Asia Pacific (Dr. Lutz Steiner), you will Implement technology development and growth strategies to enhance digitalization business. Manage research and development activities and resources by implementing technology projects, leads the Open Innovation Center.

- Create technology roadmaps for digitalization business and define and execute digitalization business strategy.
- Develop culture and capability in OIC to ensure employees can challenge the status quo in technical issues, projects and/or process.
- Plan and ensure an optimal project portfolio for the team, plan capacity, people and resources for R&D projects.
- Oversee efficient, timely and quality project execution using the most appropriate internal and external resources and partners as well as tools.
- Apply appropriate development and quality standards and monitor local product quality and change requests to identify issues.
- Ensure information flow among organization and set up and maintain channels for sharing knowledge and state-of-the-art developments from different sources.
- Support appropriate protection of newly created intellectual property and assists in defense and enforcement activities of related technology.
- Prepare annual and multi-year budget in cooperation with local & global management.
- Manage assigned resources for R&D activities, assigns tasks to team members, and supervises workload and work allocation within the project team.
- Ensure appropriate competencies are developed and acquired within the team to support development of future products and systems.
- Ensure properly organization, staffed, skilled and directed and guide, motivate and develop direct and indirect employees with the support of HR processes.

- Master’s Degree or above, major in Computer Engineering.
- 10+ years of Software Development & Management working experience and 3+ years of Architecture & System Design experience & familiar with Software Engineering and CMMI models.
- Skilled at people management and technology management.
- Excellent at communication and coordination.
- Chinese as mother tongue.
- Fluent in very good English.
