Job Title: Information Technology Support - Data Management Systems - Eastern Post -2017-18

The SUIS schools’ profile/mission is ‘East meets West’.

The Role

The IT - Data Management Systems Support (DMSS) person is responsible to the IT coordinator of the International Campus. The DMSS - IT Support person is responsible for supporting the ongoing Data Management of Shangyin Campus:
? Maintaining and assisting staff in utilizing a Learning Management System (Student database), called 3SYS Academic. Training will be provided on site.
? Checking new computer equipment on arrival and installing as appropriate
? Performing basic PC hardware repairs and upgrades
? Maintaining computer peripheral equipment such as scanners, printers, whiteboards, projectors and ensuring that these are prepared and ready for use
? Assisting in other technologic needs across the school (theatre, photography, ipad lab, network repairs, etc.)


The major responsibility of the DMSS IT Support person is to promote the best interests of students on the Shang Yin Campus, to include, but not limited to:
？ Supporting both Eastern and Western teachers in the area of DMSS IT on the SY Campus
？ Ensuring our technology meets the high standards required for the Shanghai International Schools - both hardware and software needs
？ Meet regularly with classroom teachers to effectively support students from Grade K-5. This might mean weekly meetings or meeting individually with teachers for concerns about individual students and meeting individual needs
？ Advocates for the resources required to deliver a high level of technology support in Data management on SUIS SY Campus
？ Acts as a supporter, resource, and guide for the other colleagues who are using the data management system
？ Establish house rules about the care and maintenance of IT equipment and ensure the rules are consistently applied and followed by all.
？ Designs in collaboration with the Principal and Vice-Principal effective IT documents and planning that aid in the articulation of classroom needs
？ Promotes and teaches about apps and online services that are available to the whole school
？ Is responsible for the upkeep IT equipment and notifying Admin in case of replacement needs.

It is in the establishment of an effective institutional communications structure that true progress towards our objectives will be achieved. Therefore, the IT Support will be expected to communicate effectively with:

？ Chinese and Western teachers
？ Local Stream Administration as needed
？ International school community - on an as-needed basis




Leadership

？ Lead all aspects of DMSS IT as outlined above

？ Form a liaison with other IT teachers on other campuses for ideas on how to effectively facilitate an effective data management systems and problem solve as needed


Qualifications:
? Bachelor’s Degree in Information System, Engineering, Computer Science or other relevant field ,or relevant experience
? Be able to communicate in English
? Good communication and team working skills
? In-depth knowledge of Database /computer systems/networks
? Working knowledge of School Information Management System
? Ability to demonstrate practical knowledge and problem-solving strategies
? Ability to adapt to school culture and needs.
? Lead sections of meetings related to IT
? Sponsor or present trainings in relevant areas of IT - for example, training in how to use the data management system initially to all administration and teaching staff
