职位描述：
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Backpack & Accessory Product Developer is responsible for the product development process for from the completion of design specifications, through prototyping, costing and pre-production preparation. The Product Developer will work closely with Design Team & Product Manager to ensure that design criteria, customer requirements, cost goals, and project timelines are met. This role requires demonstrated knowledge of commercialization calendar, ability to manage multiple projects, problem solving, experience with sewn good development, patterning, exceptional Adobe Illustrator skills, high level attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and within a team environment.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Tracks and monitors product development activities including but not limited to - Design Specification creation, generating prototype revision notes, construction sample development, salesmen sample finalization, pre-production sample procurement, materials finalization and sample development calendar management
? Review concept sketches with Designer and Product Manager to evaluate construction and manufacturing issues
? Coordinates with Creative Director & Design Team to ensure that all design requirements are met.
? Prepares all technical specifications & drawings for overseas sample development.
? Works closely with overseas factory & trim suppliers to ensure that all sample designs meet project criteria, performance & toxicity requirements as well as cost targets. Assesses factory bill of materials and works with Design Team to make critical decisions based on both design and cost objectives
? Ensures that products are designed for production efficiency
? Works with Design Team to ensure that products are field tested for fit & function
? Prepares prototype revision notes for overseas factory partners. Communicates product changes to overseas factories
? Tracks, reviews, and approves textiles for sample development to ensure design criteria, cost objectives and product performance requirements are met
? Ensure product development is on time, to spec and according to design specifications
? Keeps track of prototype samples by development stage and sample iteration.
? Builds and maintains textile and trim library
? Maintains Product Development Digital Filing System
? Seeks out new manufacturing methods, technologies, fabrics and materials.
? Travels overseas to work with multiple factory sample rooms to develop product lines, research materials and technologies （primarily Asia）.
? Provides backup for Design Team as required. Willing to cross train

QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong Design Skills
? Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Design, Engineering, Manufacturing or related field preferred
? Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in Bags Design or Bags Product Development
? Strong Adobe Illustrator sketching & rendering ability required. Must be able to render products in scale quickly.
? Experience creating color tech packs
? Robust understanding of 3-dimensional design & visualization.
? Microsoft Office Excel, Outlook & Powerpoint
? Adobe Photoshop & Indesign
? SolidWorks, Rhino 3D, CAD Modeling Experience a plus
? Excellent computer skills （MAC or PC）
