Description
The Instructional Designer position will be responsible for the instructional design and development of our Global Selling courseware. The Instructional Designer will adapt and localize existing content for new target audiences who provide support across multiple marketplaces. Localizing content means making it relevant for specific business operating units and in some cases translating the content into the target language. The ID will conduct the needed front-end analysis to determine the primary differences in each supported platform and determine the optimal way for associates to learn, retain, and apply that knowledge. The role also requires developing courseware for new hires and specialty teams, creating surveys, quizzes, and other methods to evaluate the effectiveness of training and assess learning and skill development. The role will also partner with Program Team members and Subject Matter Experts for new launch and program training initiatives and lead the localization work required for training and program success.
Overall, the Instructional Designer position will be responsible for driving high quality training content for eLearning programs, instructor led content, virtual classroom course design, tool kits, study guides, performance support aids for our global sites, and play a significant role in the development of a successful and effective global technical support team.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Design and Develop – use instructional design models (ISD-ADDIE, SAM, Agile) to develop blended learning curricula for Seller Support programs.
Conduct program discovery sessions with stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts including necessary front-end analyses to clearly define program and training outcomes, solutions, and success measures across multiple marketplaces.
Design and develop – instructor guides, participant materials, glossaries, online tools, practice tests, performance support aids, online tutorials, etc.
Adapt existing learning content to make it relevant for new target audiences
Manage the translation and localization process.
Manage and maintain training content in the Learning Management System and other online repositories.
Partner with program managers to scope program needs, training and language differences for target operating units and audiences.
Present the content to trainers in train-the-trainer sessions.
Basic Qualifications:
Expertise in designing, developing, planning, implementing and assessing training.
Excellent project management skills to define project schedules, deliverables, and coordination across multiple content owners.
Demonstrated experience developing eLearning courseware, performance support aids, online tutorials and/or other training materials, including gaming modules.
Expertise in development with tools such as Captivate, Articulate Studio/Storyline, Camtasia, Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator, Flash
Excellent communication skills and superior skill in explaining technical topics to novices and collaborating with subject matter experts and managers.
Demonstrated experience facilitating train-the-trainer programs and coaching trainers.
Excellent conversational and business English and Mandarin language skills.
Ability to design solutions that use multiple learning methods and link appropriate methods with subject matter.
At least 3 years' experience in an instructional design role.
Bachelor’s degree or significant college course work, preferably in a communication, education or related field or equivalent experience.
A passion for effective visual communication and a healthy sense of humor are essential to the role.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors or Master’s Degree in learning design and development.
Learning/training certification a plus.
