Role Mission Statement

Reporting to the Country General Manager, the Recruitment Specialist will:

  • Capture, agree and prioritise the candidate pools that need to be developed to support the business plan

  • Design a quarterly strategy and recruitment plan: select appropriate candidate attraction tools and allocate appropriate time to develop and optimise their use

  • Implement the plan on a day to day basis

  • Identify, screen and deliver suitable applicants, within agreed timeframes, and with a continuing focus on internal and external customer needs

The Recruitment Specialist is responsible for the country’s Recruitment function, including but not limited to:

  • Strategic Recruitment Plan

    • Work closely with the General Manager to forecast, formulate and plan for effective and on-time hiring

    • Identify the priorities for the Country in terms of locations, skill sets, job families, job titles and remuneration bands

    • Select and develop appropriate mediums to attract talent (social media, job boards, professional media, etc.)

    • Produce a SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Tractable) action plan per quarter

  • Defining the Job Library and capturing requirements

    • Building relationships with hiring managers, including Sales and Plant Managers

    • Capturing vacancy information from hiring managers using Group standard templates only and in line with best recruitment practice

    • In addition to working ad-hoc vacancies, construct a library of standard Person Specs and draft advert text for standard roles

  • Candidate Pooling

    • Develop a database of applicants against the medium term recruitment priorities

  • Day to day candidate sourcing

    • Sourcing candidates, white collar, technical and predominately high volume blue collar inspector level positions

    • Using appropriate methods of candidate sourcing (social media, job boards, professional media, in-house database etc.)

    • Phone based with some face to face interviewing

    • Matching the suitability of the candidate to the vacancy

    • Preparing the Candidate Profile for submission to the client and / or internal stakeholder

  • Candidate Control

    • Take responsibility for the monitoring and improvement of the recruitment processes

    • Effectively conduct salary negotiations with candidates and clients

    • Working closely with HR / Administration to ensure all documentary processes are followed and issued to a timely conclusion (Contract of Employment etc.)

  • Ensure that recruitment volume targets are hit

  • Ensure all recruitment activities are compliant (develop an overview knowledge of new and existing employment legislation and the application within recruitment)

  • Vendor management: relationship management of job portals including yearly contract renewal and negotiation, evaluation of vendors, review of new vendors.

  • Evaluate different recruitment channels and sources and their performance for particular job positions

  • Strong knowledge of new and existing employment legislation and application. Having the ability to introduce change and ensure full legal compliance.

  • Co-ordinate and manage the interaction with external agencies. Negotiate contracts and obtain approval for the supply of staff through approved agencies.

  • In conjunction with the group HR Manager co-ordinate a HR strategy to introduce and implement all legally compliant actions to reduce absence and staff turnover, ensure constant focus to drive down the level of absenteeism / turnover throughout the country.

  • Influencing and shaping delivery of the performance management system.

  • Ensure the on time delivery of the company appraisal process.

  • Using the appraisal process as a guide ensures the training needs identified are addressed and a suitable training plan is implemented to develop our employees.

Requirements

  • 3 years+ recruitment experience within direct internal delivery or agency (preferably blue collar and white collar).

  • Proficiency in local language and English, written and spoken, is essential.

  • Solid knowledge of talent acquisition/recruitment tools.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Enthusiastic, pro-active and self-driven personality.

  • Focus on delivery and ability to manage demanding stakeholders.

Absence Cover

In the Recruitment Specialist’s absence the role will be covered by other Recruitment specialists when available and the HR Manager / HR Administrators.
