Key elements, duties and responsibilities:

• Achieve department target (cost, quality, delivery, lead time)
• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and internal business controls.
• Develop and execute buyer business plans, sourcing strategies, and material cost reduction initiatives (MCIP) to achieve business unit goals
• Develop Requests for Quote (RFQ), analyze supplier quote information, and recommend suppliers in accordance with defined procedures.
• Negotiate pricing, contract terms, INCO, Title Transfer, Lead-time, and Minimal-Order-Quantities (MOQ) with suppliers
• Develop and execute strategies for localization of suppliers, low cost country sourcing, and other cost reduction activities to meet business unit goals
• Utilize Global Sourcing and benchmarking to achieve best cost for purchased parts
• Manage cost increase requests by eliminating or minimalizing requests
• Develop a bid-list for related categories (including suppliers who have been rejected)
• Develop, by component, a cost master file for quick reference
• Develop and manage supplier relationships and monitor supplier performance with regard to cost, quality, technology and service
• Develop and update cost tracking database of cost increases or decreases as compared to budget
• Manage and react to monthly Purchased Part Variance (PPV) report
• Demonstrate responsiveness by meeting timing on purchase orders for new programs, engineering change or other running change
• Strengthen relationships with Engineering, Plant Operations, and Plant Quality
• Support by leading or participating in activities with engineering team to develop and implement strategies.
• Develop and ensure that the following year’s material is 100% accurate per the instructions provided
• Support achievement overall supplier quality objectives
• Support operations by leading or participating in the resolution of supplier issues
• Maintain required documentation and files.

Major Job Qualifications / experience/Education (Required/preferred):

• Bachelor degree with a major in engineering/commercial or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years management experience.
• Demonstrated strong negotiation skills.
• Good people skill and communications.
• Minimum of 3 year of experience in sourcing for massive manufacturing plant
• Proficient in commercial terms and conditions.
• ISO/TS knowledge
• Proficient oral & written English skills
• Knowledge of corporate and division supplier management standards, policies and procedures
