Position Overview Responsible for the material plan for NPD projects across all stages in a project life cycle. Acquire and in time deliver the required product launch quantity of material via Material Tracking Sheets (MTS) for projects. Ensure sources of supply selected have material aligned with sources that meet the ESG strategic gross margin objectives. Meet or exceed the Charter cost target @ Unit # defined in charter. Responsibilities ? Set up and track project material plan across full project phases with early involvement ? Procure material and tools for prototype samples in time to meet development engineers requirement ? Leads weekly cross functional team merging Agile BOM w/engineering input ? Tracks Line Items on BOM w/Purchase Order - cost, delivery date, & quantity ? Tracks Line Items on BOM unable to procure - managing critical path dates to place material order ? Coordinates sourcing/RFQ plan with Asia Supplier Sourcing Group ? Volume source of supply deployed at Unit # defined in charter ? Source Gap Analysis (actual to charter) - reconciled at each phase gate exit ? Teams w/ program management office to establish charter target cost ? Cost Gap Analysis (actual to charter) - reconciled at each phase gate exit ? Other work assigned by superior from time to time. Specific Skills/Abilities ? Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment and excel in a self-directed work environment as well as within a cross functional team. ? Ability and willingness to work on multiple projects at one time and be able to adapt to changing priorities. ? Solid and wide technical insight to understand and support development requirement from design engineers. ? Able to flexible source new material, new technology, new process working with development engineer ? Good project management awareness and skills. ? Strong negotiation skills to various suppliers. ? Business acumen. ? Compliance with company value and ethics standard. ? Good analytical and interpersonal skills. ? Good communication skills in both Chinese and English. ? Willing to travel frequently. Experience and Qualifications: ? Bachelors Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with more than 8 years experience. At least 5 years related experience in new product development environment in electronics manufacturing industry is a plus. ? Familiar with international & national material compliance regulation, i.e. WEEE, ROHS, REACH. ? Rich experience on tools and equipment for plastic and metal parts, PCB and electronics components, package etc. ? Experience with power system, or consumer battery systems a plus.
