Announced in mid 2010, this business will be providing avionics systems for China’s first large commercial aircraft, the COMAC C919. Role Summary/Purpose

OS/Server/Storage Engineer & Data Management Architect will have strategic and operational responsibilities for the definition and delivery of Windows/AIX/Storage/Oracle/MS-SQL services for JV. This will include developing in-depth technical knowledge, cultural awareness, regulatory understanding and relationships (internal and external) within the country, where JV is operating or where JV has plans to operate.

Essential Responsibilities

- Demonstrate leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for an area or business segment. In this role, you will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals. - Evaluate and recommend operating systems, server and storage standards & products which improve quality, increase productivity and reduce costs - Serve as technical expert responsible for the design & implementation of data base technology; develop data migration and implementation plans; ensure that database technologies plans integrate effectively with other aspects of the technical infrastructure - Provide technical and project leadership for assigned engineering analysis and computing projects - Serve as a primary interface with internal and external contributing organization relative to technical requirements, directions and problem resolution - Act as the technical expert for detailed Database, OS, storage architecture, implementation and support activities for business applications and engineering tools - Provide leadership in the planning, evaluation, design, development,implementation and operation of IM solutions - Maintain effective communication with customer, client, supplier and system’s management - Assure projects and associated resources are planned, prioritized and managed efficiently - Maintain current knowledge of new system management practices and information technologies that are applicable to business objectives and creatively promote their use - Assure conformance to system architecture, methods, standards and practices and promote their creation - Initiate and coordinate outsourced supplier efforts as required

Qualifications/Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering- Fluent with both Chinese and English

Desired Characteristics

- At least 5 years experience on architecture of storage, admistration of Oracle/Ms-Sql database, and management of Unix/Window operating systems is preferred- 4 additional years experience with IT infrastructure Program/Project/Vendor Management- Knowledge of Networking (general working knowledge of protocols, topology, NAS / SAN interaction) - Ability to meet objectives by influencing and engaging across multiple teams- Ability to work autonomously and effectively and take initiative- Ability to think strategically and deliver local decisions aligned with a global approach- Strong oral and written communication skills- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills- Strong technical expertise with IT basic infrastructure design, build and support- Strong program management skills including project initiation, scoping, resourcing, scheduling, budgeting, risk management and communication- Excellent negotiating and consensus-building skills- Demonstrated initiative to stay abreast of technology advancements
