Role Summary/Purpose

Essential Responsibilities

•Provide leadership and technical direction for assigned program tasks and personnel •Provide support council and recommendations to subsection •Establish work group goals within framework of subsection technical and financial objectives •Maintain broad awareness of efforts within group to assure technical quality excellence, timely completion of work and reviews, appropriate use of resources, and responsiveness to customer / program needs •Facilitate communication of technical and business information between organizations and within work group •Communicate with management on technical, organizational, resource, and personnel issues •Define roles and responsibilities for assigned personnel •Conduct performance appraisals and participate in salary planning •Promote professional growth through timely performance feedback, coaching, and counseling •Ensure company compliance initiatives and training requirements are implemented within work group •Provide technical leadership for a team of engineers for all product design aspects of the assigned system •Assure all component designs meet requirements •Support and coordinate with interfacing organizations such as manufacturing, sourcing, services, global engineering, Advanced Technology Operations (ATO), and systems engineering •Support service programs, fulfillment, and New Product Introduction (NPI) •Communicate progress to all levels of the organization •Mentor and develop less experienced personnel

Qualifications/Requirements

•Ability and willingness to travel internationally as required •Experience in real time embedded avionics software development•Experience with IMA and partitioned operating environments•Experience with DO-178B software certification•Knowledge of processing platforms, network products, and real time operating systems•Experience with DO-178B, DO-254, DO-297, ARP 4754 certification standards•Experience with ARINC 653, ARINC 664, ARINC 429, ARINC 615A, ARINC 661 and other industry standards•Experience with documentation practices and requirements•Complete product and software lifecycle experience•Effective team building and project management ability•Process improvement experience•Strong interpersonal and leadership skills•Ability to organize information and make timely and sound decisions•Ability to consistently produce high quality work in a production environment•Able to prioritize work, and communicate openly in stressful situations•Experience with leading and mentoring a group•Strong English (required) and Chinese (desired) oral and written communication skills
