Role Summary/Purpose

Essential Responsibilities

The IMA platform staff engineer will serve as a technical expert and problem solver as a member of the GE AVIC joint venture Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA) platform team. He or she will also lead small teams of system engineers to resolve critical issues related to the development of the IMA platform. This role requires strong communications and management skills with a background in IMA related technologies. •Use technical expertise to resolve critical IMA platform issues •Ensure team compliance with essential processes including SAE ARP-4754, DO-297, and GE AVIC internal processes •Develop and manage tasks to meet cost, schedule, scope, and deliverable goals •Provide technical leadership and help establish technical direction for the team •Provide status reports and task metrics on a weekly basis •Develop and maintain relationships with external and internal stakeholders to ensure that customer requirements are achieved •Establish, modify, and monitor overall engineering program requirements, timing, and resources for the team to meet and exceed business objectives and goals

Qualifications/Requirements

•Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science (or a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years work experience in a technical role)•Minimum of 2 years technical leadership experience•Avionics system development experience•Solid oral and written communication skills (English required)

•Avionics system engineering experience•IMA systems experience (particularly the GE AVIC IMA)•Knowledge of avionics standards such as ARINC 653, ARINC 664, ARINC 429, ARINC 825, and DO-160•Solid oral and written communication skills (Mandarin)•Strong decision making skills•Demonstrated interpersonal and leadership skills•Experience working with virtual and international teams
