Role Summary/Purpose

The Flight Safety, Reliability and Maintainability & Testability (FSRM&T) Leader is responsible for providing personnel oversight, technical guidance, and program leadership for the FSRM&T group. The role reports directly to the Chief Engineer and is responsible for process development and program execution for system safety, reliability and maintainability & testability tasks over a broad product mix ranging from aircraft cockpit and engine control systems to simple electronic components.

Essential Responsibilities

The FSRM&T Leader has responsibility for overseeing all aspects of the safety, reliability and maintainability & testability engineering tasks. The FSRM&T Leader is responsible for managing the FSRM&T group in China including hiring and developing the FSRM&T organization staff. The FSRM&T Leader must demonstrate leadership in communicating business goals, programs objectives, and process compliance. In this role you will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives, plus have the ability to effect short-term and long-term business goals and contribute to strategic business initiatives. • Establish and lead the Flight Safety, Reliability, Maintainability, Testability (BIT) (FSRM&T) Organization. • Provide oversight and guidance for the conductance of commercial system safety, reliability, and M&T analysis. • Foster forward-looking focus on prevention. • Develop outreach and training programs for engineering population. • Share Systems SRM&T best practices across the business. • Build strong working relationships with US and Foreign SRM&T Agencies, supplier SRM&T organizations and airframer SRM&T organizations. • Lead proactive FSRM&T initiatives including the support of industrial and government committees as well as support of customer FSRM&T Working Groups. • Develop, maintain and enforce compliance with internal SRM&T processes and standards. • Integrate processes across functional areas to improve coordination and maximize efficiency. • Develop safety engineering procedures and practices that support the development and continuous improvement of highly engineered products and services. • Generate SRM&T requirements and allocate to the system, subsystem and unit levels. • Perform SRM&T analyses and assessments at the system, subsystem and unit levels. • Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements. • Provide technical leadership to personnel supporting the assigned project. • Support the Bid and Proposal process by developing SRM&T programs specifically designed in response to internal and external customer requirements. • Coordinate with subcontractors to define SRM&T programs and oversee their efforts. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams. • Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures. • Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments. • Participate on teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and generic issues. • Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews. • Scope, guide and execute to functional, business and broad company objectives.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science. • At least 10 years of experience in safety SRM&T related engineering positions.

Desired Characteristics

• Ability to speak Chinese (Mandarin), and English. • Demonstrated track record of leading technical teams. • Demonstrated ability to develop and allocate SRM&T requirements. • Familiarity with SRM&T engineering practices and associated industry standards, policies and procedures. • Extensive experience in SRM&T analysis, statistical analysis, modeling, verification and test. • At least 5 years of experience working with the design and analysis of complex electronic products. • Understanding of circuit design and analysis. • Familiarity with software design and verification. • Familiarity with complex logic design and verification. • Strong technical aptitude, including engineering tools and systems. • Strong oral and written communication skills. • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. • Six Sigma Green Belt certification. • Ability to guide and influence others. • Understanding of the principles of the entire engineering development process, the associated documentation flow and associated tools. • Understanding and use of Relex, Reliasoft or related, accepted industry standard safety and reliability analysis software tools. • Understanding and use of Microsoft Office applications. • FAA, EASA, or CAAC background / knowledge / experience. • Familiarity with ATA Specifications. • Familiarity with ARP4761, ARP4754, DO-178B, DO-254, DO-297. • Familiarity with MIL-HDBK-217, Prism • Familiarity with MSG-3 Analysis.
