General
Polycom Asia Pacific is the Asian division of Polycom Inc..
To strengthen the Finance team Polycom Asia Pacific is now looking to recruit a Credit Manager for the APAC region.
The Credit Manager will assume complete responsibility for all aspects of credit management and collections in the APAC region.

Main Responsibilities
CREDIT MANAGEMENT:
? Credit and Risk Evaluation at both regional and customer level
? Establishing and maintaining appropriate credit lines for new and existing customers
? Liaise with banks and review trade references to determine credit worthiness
? Establish and review terms and conditions of sale
? Manage appropriateness of payment terms at theatre, regional and customer level
? Ensuring revenue recognition compliance with US GAAP
? Revenue and Bad Debt Reserves
? Approve release of orders in line with risk strategy
? Implementation of the corporate credit policy ensuring full compliance
? Forwarding suggestions for the re-writing of the credit policy to reflect industry best practice
? Writing and implementation of Sarbanes-Oxley documentation and ensuring full compliance
? Managing all credit related issues for both internal and external audits, including revenue testing and doubtful debts analysis
? Proactive contact with and visiting of customers for accurate risk assessment and prompt collection
? Significant pre-sale involvement to help close business and increase revenue
? Interacting with Senior Sales Management, Logistics Management and Finance Management to ensure effective order to cash process
COLLECTIONS
? Manage and action all collection activity
? Ensure targets relating to DSO, CEI, Aged Debt and Bad Debt are met and exceeded
? Provide analysis to senior management to ensure the setting of targets for DSO, CEI, Aged Debt and Bad Debt is done at an appropriate level
? Develop, implement and action processes for specific management of Aged Debt
? Forecast cash collection to allow for effective cash flow management
? Report to management on cash collection and aged debt forecasting including action plans for resolution
? Ensure customer accounts are ‘clean’ by regular reconciliations
? Arrange and manage 3rd party activity for delinquent debt
? Co-ordination of pre and post bankruptcy receivership recoveries
? Cash application
? Resolution of customer disputes, credits, settlements and adjustments
? Root cause analysis on disputes, non-payment and credits required


OTHER ACTIVITY
? Assisting in the roll-out of a leasing model to allow for OPEX sales and providing on-going support to the programme
? Interact with and give presentations successfully to Polycom senior management
? Interact and give presentations successfully to customers’ senior management
? Lead face-to-face meetings with customers
? Administer and process alternative methods of credit such as Letters of Credit, Sight Drafts and Guarantees
? Design and improve workflows, systems, practices and procedures
? Building, coaching and managing the Credit Control Team




The Profile

Education/Experience: The successful candidate will have:

A recognised finance related qualification or degree from a university or business school.

5 years experience gained working for an international commercial organisation or financial services sector in a similar credit and/or risk role.

Significant experience of credit assessment and the setting of appropriate credit limits

Significant experience in the collection of receivables

Languages:
The candidate must be fluent in the English language (both oral and written.) Additional language skills would be a plus.

Skills / Knowledge:
A detailed knowledge of company financial reports, their interpretation and application to risk analysis

An ability to interact and lead discussions at a senior management level

Knowledge of bankruptcy, receivership and creditor protection and the associated legal procedures a plus

Knowledge of accounting policies and practices

Creative approach to process design / improvement
