1 Assess and provide feedback on the requirements including analysis, alternatives and recommendations
2 Provide input in systems and program design
3 Use strong development skills for the purpose of development support
4 Respond to and resolve database access and performance issues
5 Monitor database system details within the database, including stored procedures and execution time, and implement efficiency improvements
6 Design and implement redundant systems, policies, and procedures for disaster recovery and data archiving to ensure effective protection and integrity of data assets
7 Monitor, optimize and allocate physical data storage for database systems
8 Plan and coordinate data migrations between systems
9 Develop, implement, and maintain change control and testing processes for modifications to databases
10 Create, or support creation of, required reports in response to business user needs
11 Assist with client and operations testing and training
12 Ensure the stability and cost effective operation of the system
13 Make recommendations to management for improvements
