Brief Description:
To manage and develop the Sondrel engineering team based in various locations throughout China.

Preferred Skills :

? A Bachelor’s degree or above in Electronic Engineering
? A Background in Engineering, in particular the Semi-conductor/EDA/IP service sector
? Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills
? Fluent in English (both written and oral)
? Good management skills and experience required in managing a large team
? Experience in working independently, under pressure and to budget
? A good understanding of marketing, account management and customer service
? Experience in, and understanding of, working with multinational companies

Role and Responsibilities:

Technical Management

? Responsible for the smooth execution of projects where consultants are working on customer sites in China. Work with VP Engineering to provide backup and advice to consultants when required to ensure high technical competence and achievement.
? Work with Sales and VP Engineering to assist with Pre-Sales activities of both on-site and off-site engagements including attending customer meetings from time to time and providing technical assistance with RFQ’s.
? Responsible for raising the profile of Sondrel in China through the organisation of presentations at conferences and seminars, and attending other networking events.
? Responsible for producing a technically excellent engineering team recognised and respected by their peers in China.
? Responsible for ensuring high customer satisfaction in all technical activities, leading to on time and on budget deliveries and repeat business.
? Responsible for building the capabilities of the Chinese technical team through motivation and training resulting in high staff satisfaction and low turnover.

People Management

? Responsible for recruitment in China including sourcing potential candidates, conducting technical interviews and salary negotiation, to meet recruitment targets. The Senior Engineering Manager may also be involved in the decision process conducting at least one phone interview of the candidates selected for final interview.
? Responsible for dealing with personnel management of engineers working in the Chinese teams including development plans, post project reviews and annual appraisals, agreeing holidays, coordinating training and dealing with other personal requests.
? Approving and ensuring the accurate and timely production of timesheets and expenses.

The Engineering position will be managed in parallel with existing project activities. The engineering managers success will be dependent on their ability to recruit, train and motivate their engineering team.
