Job purpose

The Store Quality Manager ensures the quality standards of merchandising particularly perishable goods, from the goods receiving to the point of sales, by performing regular quality checks, issuing bills of corrective actions, conducting quality awareness trainings and actively helping the line staff to solve quality issues.

Key accountabilities

- Conduct periodical quality training to staff concerned to raise quality awareness

- Conduct periodical and random QA checks based on Metro common quality standards and procedures, to ensure compliances

- Jointly with Quality Manager HQ and Store Manager develop store quality monitoring plans and follow through

- Identify quality Critical Control Points (CCP) in the current merchandising process and to add to the current work procedures

- QA documentation in the store to rate supplier/merchandise in terms of quality credit

Key responsibilities

- Set up quality system (Following HQ QA national policy), e.g. HACCP

- Work with store team to ensure the implementation;

Communication to customers:

- Customer complaint handling

- Support sales team understanding the customer’s quality expectation, and work with store team and HQ departments to satisfy customer needs

- Provide value added quality service to customer, e.g. quality training, hygiene audit, depends on customer needs

- Understand customer satisfaction & un-satisfaction, ensure the qualified product & services provided to customer

Government & quality regulations:

- Coordinate with local government for quality requirement, e.g. local quality regulation, local quality related events (forum, sports game etc.)

- Teamwork with store & HQ colleagues to meet local government requirement, and vice versa

Crisis management:

- Involve in the quality crisis handling in the store, teamwork with store team & HQ QA, minimize the negative impact to Metro

- Identify quality & safety related risk, conduct risk prevention & quality control action

Goods Receiving

- Introduce quality check procedures and scorecard to goods receiving staff

- Provide easy and workable quality check tools for GR staff to identify quality defects

- Provide training to GR staff on quality monitoring skills particularly for perishable goods

- Perform daily spot checks on quality

Merchandising

- Introduce quality check procedures and scorecard to sales floor staff

- Provide training to sales staff on quality monitoring skills particularly for perishable goods

- To identify non-compliances in sales floor and impose corrective actions

Point of Sales

- Conduct appropriate levels of quality checks on deliveries to key customers

- Provide training to sales staff on quality monitoring skills particularly for perishable goods

- Remains the main contact in the store for all quality issues and emergency calls
