In this role, you will be responsible the management of over 20 engineers for the development of new products and extending the capabilities of existing Tyco products. You will also be responsible for coordinating and communicating with other technical team managers in the USA and India and introducing products into manufacturing sites in China, India and Mexico.

Manage technical teams from new product conception to final production release of a product.

Manage multiple projects, deliverables and allocation of resources while coordinating efforts with other teams in Tyco. Tyco is a matrix organization which requires negotiating schedules and resources from engineering groups across Tyco.

Bridging communications about product information, discussions, designs and issues between English speaking USA and India teams with the China team.

Software
Embedded Linux on CPUs and C code on highly constrained microcontrollers

Hardware:
High performance ARM boards, low-power microcontrollers, RF radio, cellular, low-power systems and sensors

Mechanical:
Plastic and metal form factors for small to miniature electronics including board layouts and heat calculations. Aesthetic implementation and high volume mechanical tooling is required.

Quality Assurance:
Software Quality and validation, system level testing, production testing support. Products must meet worldwide regulatory requirements including hazardous materials and radiation requirements.

Requirments:
Expert knowledge of embedded applications and product development.
Knowledgeable of entire life cycle of new embedded product development product conception to full production release.
Ability to manage multiple projects using MS Project and balance resources with priorities.
Familiar with best practices for the various phases of a product such as documentation, source code control, software & hardware testing, international regulatory certifications and production support.
Must be experienced in team building and interviewing.
Must be a leader that can guide and motivate a team to deliver world class products for Tyco.
Must have experience working at US based technology company and familiar with best practices in a large corporate environment.
Must be able to teach proper development methods to the team and facilitate the use of Tyco development tools.
Pluses: Demonstrated ability to develop new and unique product and technical solutions.
Good problem solving skills and ability to train others in problem solving.
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or related field from a major university is required.
A Masters degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Information is desirable.
Degree from a US university is highly desirable.
10 years experience in development of embedded products and experience in software development.
5 years experience managing technical teams for embedded product development.
Some international travel required (USA & India)
